Don't see the incentive.
Significantly downgrading our FRP and shifting Embiid at his lowest possible value for a 3&D prospect and some roleplayers?
The window to move Embiid and/or George should be starting next summer at the very earliest, unless you're getting back something irresistible.
I expect them to both rehab their value next season, even if marginally as we're making the playoffs + they'd have a year fewer on their deals.

I don't expect Embiid plays very much, if at all. But we'll see I suppose.

Re: 2025 Fantasy Trade Thread
Bleeding value to get off Embiid and/or PG is a non-starter. Like others have said, let them rehab their value this upcoming season, then pump and dump. it would cost way too much to get off them now.

It’s pretty adorable that some of you think Embiid and/or PG are going to increase their value going forward. Hopefully Santa and the Tooth Fairy leave you guys good presents.

It's pretty adorable that you think their value isn't in the toilet i.e. ROCK BOTTOM already. You're the one delusionally hoping for presents by trading these guys.

Huh? When did I say either were tradeable for value now? I think the exact opposite and we are pretty much screwed to be honest. If you want to cross your fingers and wish for a miracle good for you, but I’ll choose to not live in that alternative universe.

We're only 'screwed' if you're counting on being a serious contender before probably '27-'28 at the very earliest. If Morey is smart, he is using the next couple of years to unload aging contracts and accumulating picks and youth. If he is seriously intent on competing sooner, we are in for a looooooong dry spell.

Yes, short term “screwed”. Hit on #3 to add to Maxey & McCain and there’s for sure hope. Just feels like a kick to the balls to say that for a team that should have had a legit championship window.
My biggest fear is I have 0 faith in our current GM to make smart sensible moves to build for future sustainable success

Morey did a good job of pivoting from McGrady/Yao era and he did a good job pivoting from the Horford/Josh Richardson disaster. We'll see of he can do it again.PhillyFan11 wrote:mjkvol wrote:PhillyFan11 wrote:

If there’s any hope of dumping PG maybe it’s the Lakers if they have to give up very little?
Sixers out: #3, PG, Drummond, Gordon
Sixers in: #5, #21, Rui, DFS, Clarkson, Kleber
Jazz out: #5, #21, Kessler, Clarkson
Jazz in: #3, Knecht, Vincent, Gordon

However you feel about the situation, it's just poor process to trade your 'star' players at their absolute crater value wise. You risk everything for very little actual reward.
There's nothing about these hypothetical packages that we couldn't get next summer as well.

Re: 2025 Fantasy Trade Thread
I have a feeling we are going to trade the pick and go for a win now path, Daryl might not think he has 2-3 years to make things work. He is incentivized to go for it, especially in a weak East.
Ace cancelling his workout looks like he is being a diva, and he very well might be, but I think it's more that his agent has got wind that either the Sixers are locked in on Edgecombe if they can't find enough value in a trade and doesn't want his client to pointlessly meet with the team that has no interest in taking him. Sixers want to do it to increase any leverage they might have in a trade.
What the Sixers do will tell you a lot about whether Daryl thinks Embiid has anything left in the tank. If they stay at 3 and take Edgecombe, I think Daryl knows this team has no shot at a title.
Who Says No?
Rockets Get: Suns 2031 1st (from Jazz), Eric Gordon
Sixers Get: #5 pick (Kon Knueppel), Tari Eason, Cam Whitmore
Jazz Get: #3 Pick, Andre Drummond

Would you do LAC 28 unprotected (+maybe a second) for Hou#10?
Take the pick you want at 3 (VJ/ACE) plus grab another guy that can grow while trying to win (CMB/Essengue)
Maxey/Grimes/Pg/Embiid try to anchor a winning run
With
McCain/VJ/Edwards/Essengue/Bona playing big reserve minutes through the regular season.

On this, we disagree. Assuming status quo, next summer everyone is asking for 1sts (plural) to take those albatrosses on.
I do think PG should be somewhat better, though, so I would be in less of a rush to move him. The risk is if the team goes to poop, PG could gonna check out again.

Wonder if BKN might take the Clipper pick for 8? They have 4 picks in this draft already.

I don't love this for the Jazz, either.
