eagereyez wrote:Kris Dunn has been quietly terrible. 70/86 in RPM for his position. A horrendous offensive player. This is why you don't overvalue PG defense, especially when they couldn't improve their FT shooting through 4 years of college. He looks like MCW 2.0 and turns 23 in a month. Shooting splits of 369/.271/.580. Boston dodged a landmine.

I thought people were nuts for wanting to trade Noel to move up and take him 3rd. He's just an athletic gunner that can't shoot. This is yet another lesson to stop overvaluing older players that crush college as upperclassmen with a significant athletic and experience advantage. It's even worse if these guys didn't crush as underclassmen. Furthermore, these guys need to be NBA ready and start crushing like Brogdon because they have much less upside than 19/20 year olds. Unfortunately we see the same thing every year (Jimmer, McDermott, Kaminsky, Hield, etc), almost always from terribly run franchises.

People also overvalued his college 3 point shooting over 206 attempts while ignoring that he shot <70% career from the FT line, a much better indicator of NBA 3 point shooting ability. It's laughable that two NBA GMs took Dunn and Hield over Murray.

Chaos in Toronto, Kyle Lowry is calling out Dwayne Casey for his ISO ball offense. Let's hope he doesn't force Masai to fire Casey, that would really limit our chances of signing Lowry this summer.

The 2016 draft was so weak

I can't even put into words how fortunate we were to end up with Simmons instead of a scrub like Ingram or Dunn

Wizards are absolutely pasting the Thunder right now

For all the talk about the Celtics, 76ers, and Bucks (lol) having bright futures, I think there is a quiet storm brewing in DC that will be contenders in the East very soon.

I've been a fan of Wall since we missed him by 1 spot in the draft, loved Beal coming out of college, and now Otto Porter has really grown into an awesome 2-way player.

John Wall is the best PG in the East

They're the #2 team in the East. As CLE (mainly LeBron) gets old, they have a chance to make the finals. They better do that before we pass them though.

Jokic is an amazing passer, but Nuggets also do a lot to make it easier for him. Got the rebound and had two targets to outlet pass to. Should learn from this for Saric and Simmons, eventually.

Not hating, but why is that being tweeted? I don't know a single player that couldn't make that pass.

He's tweeting just about all of his passes it looks like.

Looking at them and I'm not implying that the one I posted is among them, but he's one of those players that makes even difficult plays seem kind of boring.

Jamal Murray better than DLo?

thats what I thought too. Dont get me wrong, it was a good pass that led the player to the basket and turned into an easy bucket

but its not like he threaded the ball full court over 3 pairs of hands with 3 seconds left and hit the player right in the breadbasket without launching the ball into the 5th row

much more impressive from Roco IMO

Considering there were a few of us (myself included) who wanted to trade one of our bigs to Boston for the 3rd pick for Dunn did we dodge a bulked or this us waaaaay too early to say anything either way?

Depends on which big. We dodged a bullet by not trading Noel for Dunn. We shot ourselves in the foot by not trading Okafor for Dunn then. In general though, targeting upperclassmen in the top half of the lottery is foolish, especially those that didn't crush early on and ones that can't shoot. I would not have wanted to trade Noel for the 3rd pick but if we moved Okafor, I would have taken Murray.

It's interesting seeing the bigs traded around the league while the Sixers still hold onto two bigs the entire world has been aware of being on the trade block since before the NBA season began. Are the Sixers still holding onto Noel and Okafor because they want more than what has been acquired in the Ibaka and Nurkic trades, or are teams offering less than what the Blazers and Magic received?

I believe that teams are offering the Sixers less than what the B;azers and Magic received. I do not believe that teams are offering first round picks for Noel and Okafor. Noel and okafor have injury concerns and the Sixers have clearly diminished their value and production by benching them at times and insisting upon putting them on the court with horrible NBA guards that have contributed to stunting their development as big men. Okafor needs space and Noel needs creative lob passes (Andre Miller/Chris Paul). The Sixers guards the last two seasons have been bad in those areas. It hasn't helped that Embiid is light years better than both of them.

Anyone wanna guess what the Nets are gonna offer Noel in FA? Considering the offer they gave to Crabbe, I'd guess that they'll offer Noel the full max + some sort of NTC or trade kicker. Make it the nastiest poison pill possible. If the 76ers don't match (which won't happen) then they look to bounce Lopez for a pick. Makes too much sense for them not to do it.

They'll have to deal Lopez first or I don't think Nerlens signs their offer sheet. He wants to start.

Which brings me to the second and more important part. I don't think anyone is going to max out Noel.

They already tried to trade Lopez this year. If the Nets promise to trade Lopez, there's no reason for him not to trust them. And it's not like he's going to be a starter in Philly. I think Noel will receive a max from Brooklyn and/or Dallas.

I can see Dallas and Milwaukee trying to line up big offers.

Not interested, but since Rudy Gay has gotten injured, Ben McLemore has been shooting the lights out. I wonder if he's turned any corners here or is just on a streak. Still pretty young (24). It'll be interesting to see how he plays moving forward.
