Lets prove how this deal would make absoulutely ZERO sense for sixers, therefore, if this is the final shape of the deal it is impossible it would happen..
So you say:
Sixers get: Redick, Anderson, Turkoglu
Orlando get: Iguodala, Brand
1) Lets check salaries.. Orlando incoming salaries is around 28 million, and outgoing is around 18 million.. So this obviously fails! (Orlando needs to give out around 9 more million - which would likely involve 3rd team)
2) If Sixers are trying to dump salaries with trading Brand and Iguodala, I'm positive they wouldn't accept Turkoglu in return, who has almost exactly the SAME contract as Iguodala! And is much, much older, and still, not better player than Dre..
3) If Orlando is getting Brand, be sure that Philly is asking for Bass in return! Thats 100%! He is a nice PF with nice contract that would fit Sixers nicely as starting PF instead of Brand..
4) Now lets take a look at Sixers roster after the trade!
Guards: Holiday, Williams, Meeks, Redick - Sorry but thats too much to get everyone the minutes they are asking.. We should probably have to get rid of one of Meeks or Lou to work this out..
SF - Turner, Turkoglu, Nocioni - we all expect Turner to start and get his game on another level next season, and I don't know how content would Turk be to start of the bench.. Plus I must mention his terrible, terrible contract once again..
PF - Bass (definitely asking for him), Young, Anderson - Anderson is good player, but with Bass and Young getting huge minutes, he wouldn't get minutes he deserves.. Other option is if we let Thad go, but that would be disaster for Sixers..
C - Hawes, Speights - So we basically made a blockbuster deal, and not only we didn't improve our weakest position, we even downgraded it!! (because Brand played major minutes at C).. So this just won't work..
I hope I proved that this trade is DEFINITELY not going down, especially not in this shape! 3rd team would have to be involved, and for Sixer to accept it, it would have to look like this:
Orlando trades: Redick, Anderson, Bass, Turkoglu (to a 3rd team)
Orlando gets: Iguodala, Brand
Sixers trades: Brand, Iguodala, Williams (or Meeks)
Sixers get: Redick, Anderson, Bass, legit Center (from a 3rd team)
3rd team trades: Center (to Sixers), potentially some fillers
3rd team gets: Lou (or Meeks, or Redick), Turkoglu.
Thats how I see it! Thank you very much!
