Iggy and Brand Verbally Traded

Post#1 » by Blkbrd671 » Fri May 13, 2011 7:19 am

this was posted on the Orl. board, and since we bored out of our freakin mines til the draft i figured lets give you guys some entertainment. i think philly's getting bent over in the deal, so let the fun begin

InfamousOAK90 wrote:What's going on everyone? I know this is my 2nd post on here but here me out because I am FREAKING OUT!!! I am good friends with someone who attends the school Lake Highland Prep and his dad happens to be Jim Fritz who is the Chief Financial Officer for the Orlando Magic. He informed me tonight that Otis Smith had came to a mutual agreement with GS and Philly. The deal would consist of signing and trading Jason Richardson, Jameer Nelson, and a future 1st rnd pick to GS for Monta Ellis and Andres Biedrins.. The other deal would send Ryan Anderson, JJ Redick, Hedo Turkoglu, and $$ for Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand. The deal is supposed to go down on draft night so they can figure out J-Rich's contract situation. Guys I'm not lying. I have no reason to make this up because I love this team more than anyone on here. I just can't wait for Draft Night!!!!!!

Supposedly the philly deals suppose include more pieaces .

I'm sorry but this deal for Philly is ridiculous.. Anderson and Redick are nice little pieces, but Turkoglu's contract is terrible, even worse than Iguodalas..

I don't see any point in this.. We won't cut much salary with this, and talent wise we are downgrading.. No sense at all..

Im the poster who posted this and believe it or not I have pretty good source that says the deal will go down. However, that was more like a "mock trade" before it actually happens. But it is for sure that Philly and Orl have came to an agreement to be trading partners that would include Iguodala for us and you guys receiving Anderson, JJ and other unknown players.

Like what Iguodala once tweeted.. "fake like silicone."

Or my own translation of this statement, REALGM 76ers board edition.. fake like SF1976.

The funny thing is.. This really isn't fake.. Believe it or not this a REALLY good source since it's the son of the Orlando's Chief Financial Officer. I'm sure when the trade is finalized you guys will be getting a good deal

Maybe it's the son of the Magic's mascot.

Sorry, but it just doesn't make sense. Kate Fagan already said that any moves the 76ers will be doing, they will consult it with Doug Collins. I doubt Doug Collins would agree to this deal. He'd be wasting his time with this team if the deal goes down.

Like I said, that's not the deal set in stone. Philly and Orl have agreed to be trading partners but the players are still being determined because there could still be a 3rd team involved that would spice up your end of the deal.

"Ryan Anderson, JJ Redick, Hedo Turkoglu, and $$ for Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand. "

3 players that each averaged under 11ppg and project as bench players for the rest of their careers do not net you 2 starters that lead a franchise to the playoffs.

Not the deal that's happening for sure... Iggy could be dealt in a 3 team trade, he could be dealt by himself, or with a different player.. I was told that was the original players involved in the deal from Orlando.. It can change from now til draft night.. Thats just common sense.

Lets prove how this deal would make absoulutely ZERO sense for sixers, therefore, if this is the final shape of the deal it is impossible it would happen..

So you say:

Sixers get: Redick, Anderson, Turkoglu
Orlando get: Iguodala, Brand

1) Lets check salaries.. Orlando incoming salaries is around 28 million, and outgoing is around 18 million.. So this obviously fails! (Orlando needs to give out around 9 more million - which would likely involve 3rd team)

2) If Sixers are trying to dump salaries with trading Brand and Iguodala, I'm positive they wouldn't accept Turkoglu in return, who has almost exactly the SAME contract as Iguodala! And is much, much older, and still, not better player than Dre..

3) If Orlando is getting Brand, be sure that Philly is asking for Bass in return! Thats 100%! He is a nice PF with nice contract that would fit Sixers nicely as starting PF instead of Brand..

4) Now lets take a look at Sixers roster after the trade!

Guards: Holiday, Williams, Meeks, Redick - Sorry but thats too much to get everyone the minutes they are asking.. We should probably have to get rid of one of Meeks or Lou to work this out..

SF - Turner, Turkoglu, Nocioni - we all expect Turner to start and get his game on another level next season, and I don't know how content would Turk be to start of the bench.. Plus I must mention his terrible, terrible contract once again..

PF - Bass (definitely asking for him), Young, Anderson - Anderson is good player, but with Bass and Young getting huge minutes, he wouldn't get minutes he deserves.. Other option is if we let Thad go, but that would be disaster for Sixers..

C - Hawes, Speights - So we basically made a blockbuster deal, and not only we didn't improve our weakest position, we even downgraded it!! (because Brand played major minutes at C).. So this just won't work..

I hope I proved that this trade is DEFINITELY not going down, especially not in this shape! 3rd team would have to be involved, and for Sixer to accept it, it would have to look like this:

Orlando trades: Redick, Anderson, Bass, Turkoglu (to a 3rd team)
Orlando gets: Iguodala, Brand

Sixers trades: Brand, Iguodala, Williams (or Meeks)
Sixers get: Redick, Anderson, Bass, legit Center (from a 3rd team)

3rd team trades: Center (to Sixers), potentially some fillers
3rd team gets: Lou (or Meeks, or Redick), Turkoglu.

Thats how I see it! Thank you very much!

It's a mock trade, its for sure, its a dessert topping. Or it's "sometimes you don't get equal talent".

http://www.nba.com/magic/news/executives.html puts Fritz's his son at 11 years old. If it is true, I'm betting he's grounded for life.

trade sounds stupid in all 3 ways. If Sixer got Monta, then I would like it and wouldnt care about the other players.

Seriously, who would Magic use as their PG? Jameer was the only guy that had, unless Magic are hoping Gilbert would have a bigger year next year. If Gilbert gets his swagger back for next year, Monta and Gilbert are basically the same player. So Magic are trading 4 3point shooters for a Center, A power forward, a small forward(Iggy - who cant shoot the ball that great). Doesnt make sense at when u trade shooters for inside players, this league u need shooters.

This is hilarious.

Wasn't a trade extremely similar to this posted in the fantasy thread a few days ago?
I love when people go above n beyond to try and pump life into an NBA live trade... But I think even in a video game this deal would be REJECTED.

And from the LA board...

What's going on everyone? I live in Orlando and I happen to be good friends with the son of the Magic's Chief Financial Officer Jim Fritz. And I was informed by his son that Dwight has let the Magic organization know that he won't be resigning with them when his contract expires. I was told that LA and Orl and have came to a mutual agreement to be trading partners on Draft Night and Orl will be trading Dwight Howard, Gilbert Arenas, Daniel Orton and Hedo Turkoglu for Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, Matt Barnes, and Shannon Brown. As a Magic fan I'm sad to see Dwight go to you guys but it is what it is... It isn't set in stone yet since there is still kinks to be worked out but I was well informed those were the pieces you'd be sending over and receiving.. Congrats on the Dwight Sweepstakes

Turkoglu's getting traded to multiple teams.

The Sixers would have to get Orton also in the deal in addition to the others. BUt there is no way this is happening.

I'm sure this guy sits down and discusses the magic's deals all off-season with his 11 year old.

The $$ we're receiving better be enough to offset the loss at the box office we'll see after a trade like that. And besides, I thought I saw where Thorn said he wanted to add talent...not Oralndo's garbage.
