**** hell, Baph. Wtf is this? I'm the resident writer/poet here. Or so I thought.

Well done, my friend.

Spoiler:
One error though: No_20 is the GOAT soccer board poster

No_20 is the lord of banter, but Massimo is an all round great. Pippen to Massimo's MJ. Deep down, I know the Germans here would be sad if he stopped posting. His presence is as ubiquitous as the sun.

I know, you're correct. Massi is the GOAT, but ****. Stop showing me up with these beautiful metaphors.

I'm going to have to step up my game.

You don't really think that, do you?

Don't think many would argue that this forum wasn't a more boring place during his hiatus. Which is why I hope next summer isn't too hard on him 8-)

It is truly a testament to the quality of football coming out of German academies that you **** won that WC. The players you guys have had have been **** exceptional for years now and are the main reason for your success imo. Klinsmann blows, and really should have gotten you to at least the Finals in '06. That whole WC was a joke. Germany was a disgrace against Spain in 2010 and easily could have taken the Finals against the Netherlands. Low is such an awful manager that I have a ton of respect for the 2014 squad. I was so certain he would **** everything up for you guys yet again.

That said, I see him hurting your team again next year, I don't think you guys go all the way, definitely not massive, clear favorites imo.

All of THAT said: Terim is even worse, and Turkey doesn't exactly have the level of talent you do, lol. Definitely going to be another rough tournament for Massi.

I have nothing against the German national team at all (I'm just a Low hater, and also have a lot of disdain for Gotze), but I still get sad thinking about Low subbing in Gotze and subsequently winning it all. Massi must have PTSD from that **** if I still feel that way, lol.

Massi has nothing to stand on anymore insulting German soccer.

Yet, he still owns all of you Germans on this board somehow.

Spoiler:
GOAT soccer board poster, as Baph said. Just incredible what he has been able to accomplish with y'all and the Gunners.

Spoiler:
I take that back. Its not that hard to get into Arsenal fans' heads. They really need to lose Wenger.

2012 against Italy was the greatest example of Loew's cowardice **** us over. Every change he made for that game weakened our strengths while failing to take away those of the italians. Just an absolute disaster. At least in 2010 he was unlucky that Ozil didn't go down right before the half to get the pen that most attackers would settle for; had we taken a 1-0 into half time our counters would've likely found a 2nd when the spanish opened up in search of an equalizer.

But coaching will keep this golden generation from surpassing the achievements of the 70s teams, and with all of this talent that is sad...even if not a new phenomenon. The DFB chasing players out is why we lost the final in 76 to stop us from becoming the first nation to win a threepeat in the the Euros and WC over 30 years before the spaniards won theirs. So we have a history of **** up our golden ages and ending them prematurely.

I doubt it would be a big surprise to most football fans in Germany.
We've lost our only real striker and right back as Klose and Lahm(could see him come back for the tournament, though) retired and those two positions(well full backs in general) are the ones we don't produce players these days.
At least the german football association has acknowledged that and might work a bit more towards that in the youth ranks.

Also, Löw's already playing the full backs as wingers and running forward like crazy, which results in quite a few dumb goals conceeded every other game. Thanks to the heat/humidity in Brazil he wasn't able to do so and that's why we were able to have a better balance of offense/defense which helped us in the end.

He also stated(at least that's what was said during the match in Scotland) that the european championships are just a step in building the team for the big goal of defending the world cup in 2018...

I'm not that sure about it.
I think Spain deserved it in 2010 as well and we couldn't do all that much during the game, especially thanks to Müller being suspended for that game.
Though, it wasn't as bad as 2008(were we lost by just 0-1 but never had a shot at all) and showed we did make some progress.

2012, on the other hand, was absolutely on us as we were playing schoolboy defense and gave up two silly goals to the Italians, which we couldn't come back from.
Still, that's probably to be expected given that we always lose to them and it's probably something liken an unwritten law or so. You know, just like England, once they try penalties or Argentina playing us...

Well, they have a big stadium and are playing in a huge city. ;)

BTW: Juan Arango ended his international career and won't play for Venezuela anymore.
Really loved that dude.

Servus Franz Beckenbauer with the 70.

I have him up as the 6th greatest and most influential German of all time: Luther, Marx, Merkel, Adenauer, Einstein, Beckenbauer. I have him above people like Beethoven and Kohl. Winning the WC as a player, manager and winning the WC to Germany in 06' is quite unique. He also turned around FC Bayern, before him they were a mediocre club.

Oh, that's highly questionable. They both scored exactly the same amount of Bundesliga goals last season.

A Kalou-Ibisevic partnership looks very interesting. If we were in 2008.

I agree it is not appropriate to laugh about Hertha strikers when his team is fielding the likes of Schipplock, Rudnevs and Lasogga.

On Bundesliga.de they are doing something like shooting corners directly on goal with five players of each teams taking three shots.

Guess who is last, Hamburg and Stuttgart.
http://www.bundesliga.de/de/bundesliga-tv/bundesliga-tv_378424.jsp

Scored just 3 out of 15 attempts directly. Looking at Jacques Zoua's corner kick technique is brilliant, too.
