You play them exactly right. Sit deep and let them have to deal with the ball, and counter quickly and lethally to take advantage of their confused backline when you do get the ball. Leverkusen don't know how to deal with getting most of the ball against good teams. If they can't just power through a goal or two against a team sitting deep and they're screwed.
Same thing happened to Schalke against us. We sat deep for 180 minutes and won 6-0
Schalke are at least much better suited to playing in possession, even if they should be a counter-attacking team, Leverkusen's personnel are just not suited for it, nor does Hyypia coach them to it. It's why I think Leverkusen would do better in the Knockouts than the group stage. In the knockouts they'll be able to be the team to sit deep and defend against most opponents.
