That's 7 past Bayer and counting. Tehy have easily been our easiest opponent so far this season.

You play them exactly right. Sit deep and let them have to deal with the ball, and counter quickly and lethally to take advantage of their confused backline when you do get the ball. Leverkusen don't know how to deal with getting most of the ball against good teams. If they can't just power through a goal or two against a team sitting deep and they're screwed.

Same thing happened to Schalke against us. We sat deep for 180 minutes and won 6-0

Schalke are at least much better suited to playing in possession, even if they should be a counter-attacking team, Leverkusen's personnel are just not suited for it, nor does Hyypia coach them to it. It's why I think Leverkusen would do better in the Knockouts than the group stage. In the knockouts they'll be able to be the team to sit deep and defend against most opponents.

Remember kids, Leverkusen is the only team that beat Bayern in the last 51 (!) Bundesliga games.

Evans and Smalling have both scored. Barcelona actually lost.

Believe in miracles. Come this weekend, Spurs will score a goal.

To be fair, as poor as Leverkusen have been, United's movement has been terrific tonight. Rooney has had his hand in just about every attack too, just orchestrating things at this point.

rooney has been carrying united all season , fantastic player and fair play to moyes for staying strong and refusing to sell him

Meh, Leverkusen are my least favorite or second least favorite BuLi team so I don't mind seeing them getting embarassed :D

Hopefully this crushes their spirits and they go on a losing skid that sees Dortmund, Gladbach and Schalke all passing them in the table.

It's called growing pains. Just too inexperienced against squads that play the CL every season. Kinda like Dortmund two seasons ago. They were the best team in their group and still finished last.

Well that was just mean from Isco.

They're a much better matchup with Bayern or today's Barca than they are a team like United. In those games they can focus on defending, countering when they get the chance and pouncing on set pieces. That's their bread and butter and when they can do that, they're a big threat, even to top sides.

Schalke won't ever make a push for top 4 in the Bundesliga table this season unless they fire Keller soon. They made good transfers in the offseason but it doesn't help if the goalie and the coach suck.

Keller is really awful. But if they can get healthy they may be good enough to overcome him, especially if they get hot once hunter and farfan are back. I'm impressed that they're as close to a CL place as they are given those injuries and how **** they started the season. Firing Keller over the winterpause and getting those guys back could set htme up for a very strong ruck runde especially if they buy a goal keeper and holding mid.
