Nurk looked good first half of last season, but has looked trashy for the most part since then. Maybe worth using draft capital to try upgrading with someone more dependable.

Vast majority of teams are streaky. That's the nature of the game today in the 3PT era. You go up big quickly and also lose a lead quickly as well.

Dunn replacing Beal in the SL will lead to a better balance in the lineups IMO and less such swings. It's all offense right now. The defense was terrible at start of the game.

These are no-brainers but I see no reason the other teams would do it.

Honeslty hope that Bud can convince Beal to play the Jamal Crawford role without sulking. He should still be able to play 28-30 minutes off the bench, and will likely still end games, but our line-ups will be much better balanced overall.

Great game. Book with a nice big game. Royce played well. Lots of energy on D from Beal with steals and that great block on the fast break, grabbing the ball, and did a great job on LeBron, really holding him to only 1 or 2 baskets made on 9 or 10 attempts before Royce and then Dunn switched onto him. KD had some nice shots, but still I wish for a little more ball movement. Allen barely touched the ball and we could have used his 3s. Too often KD was isoing around 2-3 players while Allen was open in the corner.

Allen subbed for Beal, and Beal seems best at finding open 3pt shooters, so that probably prevented Allen from getting some shots up.

I don't think Bud wants to bring Beal off the bench, and even if he did, I think he'd probably start Allen or O'Neale. I know Dunn started the one game, but Allen was off so that left only O'Neale to sub in first.

Beal could go ask to be 6th man, but unless Bud wants that, I'm not sure it would be well received necessarily if Bud wants him to start. If it does become something, I'm not sure Dunn would start yet, but Allen or O'Neale, despite what fans want. I do think if Bud asked him to come off the bench, he probably wouldn't have a problem with it. I think he gets more shots if he plays a little less with KD who always calls for the ball.

Good game and KD played well overall but I still would like to see a little more ball movement and less iso. I thought our D looked good. Plumlee plays a lot better than Nurkic, at least against the Lakers. It will be interesting to see which teams Nurkic plays well against and which ones he plays poorly against.

Bud needs to sit Nurkic when he sucks and if he doesn't like it JJ should shop him hard in the hope that some suckers will offer something of value for him.

Nobody has any reason to give anything of value for Nurk. I like Nurk. He clearly has his faults but he’s a big body and is extremely effective in certain matchups (like vs the Mavs on Saturday). He can’t play vs Anthony Davis. There’s no shame in that.

Other centers who have a similar salary include Zach Collins, Isaiah Stewart, Mitchell Robinson, Richaun Holmes, Steven Adams. That’s the type of guy you would be able to get for Nurk. And personally, I’d take Nurk over all of them. Maybe Robinson because he’d bring rim protection we lack but not sure the Knicks would have interest.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't see anyone wanting Nurkic, looking at C's around the league....at least where we get someone worthwhile at the C position for him.

Russell played really well last year. I think their whole starting lineup is strong, but I don't know how healthy they will be all season.

Yeah I think they’re legit and appear to be well coached. And I hate Reaves but he might be legit good now. Don’t forget they’re missing Christian Wood too. I don’t know how good he is but he’s probably better than Jaxson Hayes who is currently their backup big.

Any hope for the Suns to get Kessler will def involve all controlled picks.
2031 unprotected
2 remaining 2nds
And salary.

Kessler makes just under 3 mil this season so finding a salary match isn't an issue.
Given how far out our pick is, I can't imagine we can entice them. Another team will offer at least 2 1sts imo.

Alternatively, maybe they would do Okogie, Oso, 2031 unprotected first, both 2nds, for Eubanks (waive) & Kessler.

Gives them a bit more. But even then, I can't see it.

Yes, Ainge would demand a lot of picks. I think they will keep Kessler for now.

I think Capela could be an option if they plan on going with Okongwu. Capela is expiring, and they could use Nurkic for one more year and he is a little cheaper.

Capela provides more inside presence defensively and is a very solid rebounder and a good finisher. He can't stretch the floor though so Bud would have to be ok with that.

The team is definitely much enjoyable to watch on both sides of the ball. The biggest difference is speed of transition from offense to defense. The Suns are palatable this season. Last season was like a bowl of mushy gruel.

Crap that's right. I thought you could if it was 2 for 2.
I don't want to lose Oso anyway :)

I consider the Jazz roster to be off-limits in trade discussions. Ainge will demand your first born child and never budge, even to the point of self-defeat. No point dealing with that guy.

Nurkic is a slow starter seems the type that needs conditioning. 1 of first 11 games last year were above 50% FG.

But he is 30 now is that the threshold where he doesn't come back.

He has always been bad against mobile agile C's like Davis and better against the bangers who killed us like Jokic and Val who beat us into submission. Now we at least have Plum and the rook to fill those roles.

Return to Phoenix Suns
