Great game. Book with a nice big game. Royce played well. Lots of energy on D from Beal with steals and that great block on the fast break, grabbing the ball, and did a great job on LeBron, really holding him to only 1 or 2 baskets made on 9 or 10 attempts before Royce and then Dunn switched onto him. KD had some nice shots, but still I wish for a little more ball movement. Allen barely touched the ball and we could have used his 3s. Too often KD was isoing around 2-3 players while Allen was open in the corner.
Allen subbed for Beal, and Beal seems best at finding open 3pt shooters, so that probably prevented Allen from getting some shots up.
I don't think Bud wants to bring Beal off the bench, and even if he did, I think he'd probably start Allen or O'Neale. I know Dunn started the one game, but Allen was off so that left only O'Neale to sub in first.
Beal could go ask to be 6th man, but unless Bud wants that, I'm not sure it would be well received necessarily if Bud wants him to start. If it does become something, I'm not sure Dunn would start yet, but Allen or O'Neale, despite what fans want. I do think if Bud asked him to come off the bench, he probably wouldn't have a problem with it. I think he gets more shots if he plays a little less with KD who always calls for the ball.
Good game and KD played well overall but I still would like to see a little more ball movement and less iso. I thought our D looked good. Plumlee plays a lot better than Nurkic, at least against the Lakers. It will be interesting to see which teams Nurkic plays well against and which ones he plays poorly against.
