What type of mentality is this ??? They '
deserve' a raise ??? Did the front office offer to take a pay cut for the prior non playoff revenue generating year ? I can see some bonuses spread around.... but this thought that if you have a good yr, then you deserve a raise ?
.
Compensating the front office staff after a winning season is common practice in both the NBA and most sports teams. Its only fair that after increased revenue that they should see some of it. If a ceo of a financial firm told his brokers they wouldn't be making commission after a good quarter he would be ostracized. Why? Because hes going against the industry standard.
Whether some agree with it or not NBA owners usually share some of the increased revenue by giving the front office staff a raise after a successful season. The only difference was Sarver decided to refuse to share any if it. Kerr went up to bat for the staff and it was a losing effort. Anytime a captain of a ship refuses to share with with his crew(or screw the fans) the ship is doomed.
