Neither are really that good, but Brooks is a better PG. Really suprised people still got the Dragic homer-goggles on. I certainly dont miss him running full speed up the court, losing his dribble, passing the ball off, getting it right back, and shooting up bad shots that typically fell short and the time ran off the shot clock. He was awful at running the PnR which is the Suns bread n butter. He was a shooting guard in a PGs body, and an average one at that.

In a guard loaded draft, its hard to tell what we will do. If were not in the top 10, we probably wont get a big man worth the pick, which would likely lead us to a PG to get the BPA. Then were lookin at Nash, Brooks, and hopefully Kemba, Jimmer or Knight. We will have some serious choices to make. Alec Burks would be amazing in a Suns uni though, but he will be gone by the time we pick.

Yeah, he averages a couple steals a game throughout his career, but I wouldnt say hes an elite defender. He plays pass lanes more than he does shutdown D.

C'mon, either you haven't looked past his box score stats or worse, you haven't even seen him play, but that is just straight BS. I agree Prime VC is better than Iggy on offense but to say he's not one of the top defenders in the league is pretty ignorant. Even if you don't have access to advanced stats you could tell by the way he plays defense.

It's from a Sixers blog, but those stats don't lie.

I dont even get why you post here. You're nothing more than a Hedo player fan

For your information I was probably a Suns fan long before you even knew who they were. I post here so that all the supposed "fans" who could do nothing but complain about the team can see they got what they wished for . Don't worry, you won't have to put up with me much longer as you'll probably be gone like most of the other so called "fans" soon.

Oh, and besides Steve Nash, who on this team is better than Hedo?

This is unnecessary on both of your parts.

No need to call out posters, and no need to troll "so fans can see they got what they wished for".

Anything like this can escalate quickly in a game thread as we've seen. If you don't like a post, report it, the mods will handle it as they see fit.

depressedfan.com, such a solid link/blog.....judging by reading that, the person is clearly a Sixers fan, or just completely obsessed with Iggy.
I never said he's not a good defender, because he is better than a lot of players on the defensive end, but there are better 1 on 1 defenders. As for the portion "ask these guys" cool, I could dig up stats like that for a lot of guys. You're right though, I never watch him play...more like ive seen him play since he was at U of A...seems like you are one of those guys that looks up numbers and trys to act like he knows what hes talking about. Some of those players on the PPP list are not even good defenders, the numbers may indicate they are, but if you watched the game enough you'd know numbers can be deceiving.
Lebron, Afflalo, Artest, Battier, Wallace, and Sefolosha are all better defenders IMO and thats just wings. Just last week Durant lit up the "best wing defender" in the NBA for 34 pts and 16 rebounds, and AK47 (lmao) dropped 16 pts on him last night.
Appreciate you trying to discount my knowledge though

Everyone's got opinions and think they have knowledge. I've seen him play and the stats just back up what I see. I never watched him play at UoA but I have followed him and watched him play since he came into the league as I am a fan of his. And so what if the best pure scorer dropped 34 and 16 on him? What, you haven't seen lesser guys drop big numbers on Lebron, Afflalo and Thabo before?

Those numbers may not be perfect, and there are bound to be guys who don't deserve to be at the top of the list who are there. But for the most part, the guys who are suppose to be up there, Bron, Deng, Iggy, Hill, Wade etc are there. I'm a big fan of defense and would watch games just to see defense players do their job. But outside of watching and reading the score box, I've never had real statistical evidence for great defenders. Now I do.

The games comes first, the stats just back it up.

I think Hedo is past his prime. He wasted his time in Toronto when the Magic could've made a real run with him last season.

still can't believe Gentry pulled Childress out of the game right after he clearly showed himself to be the best player on the floor, and then didn't put him back in until the fourth quarter, at which point he was instrumental in almost winning the game for us.

is Gentry wearing stupid goggles or something?

Absolute heartbreaker...but at least there was heart and passion out there on the court unlike the garbage we saw against Orlando.

Brooks was extremely disappointing though. I would have thought this would be his breakout game for the Suns, especially since he was getting the start against his former team...
Even worse for him was that Dowdell played more minutes. Deservedly so too - he was excellent.
Yeah he's prone to taking some bad shots every now and again but he's nothing compared to the 2 chuckers, Vince & Mikael.

Created a pol. A bit different this time... Instead of focusing on who lost the game for us, the poll is looking at the positives we can take out of this game.

I voted for Childress, although both him and Dowdell were incredible bright spots.

Childress got the nod though because the Suns signed him to a long-term deal so he can be part of our long-term plans. Whether that will happen or not remains to be seen, but he's got a much better chance of remaining on this team down the line than Dowdell does.

That means we just saw some amazing potential from a guy that has been stuck on the bench all year... who also happens to be signed to play for the Suns for a very long time. That's bright.

I hope we re-sign Dowdell. He's very good backup point guard. He was a great insurance for us with Nash out and Brooks struggling last night.

Disapointed by the finish, but I applaud the guys that stepped up in the 2nd half (Vince/Dowdell/Childress).

Aaron Brooks really needs to step his game up and hopefully nash returns quickly because if we don't win tonight's game, I predict game over for our playoff hopes. Dowdell really impressed me, but his passing is very lackidaisical and he takes some bad shots. Childress, has a horrible jumpshot, but he's an underrated defender and rebounder.

Warrick besides the Rockets game, has been absolutely dreadful as a starter, so I don't see why Gentry switches it up a bit.

Not making the thread again tonight. Who got it?
