I agree. Booker's offense isn't particularly fancy and not efficient either (at this point) and we really watch in the hope he has an epic offensive showing but that's not a nightly thing. Nash's game, whether he puts up 20/15 or 11/8, is must-see TV. I miss watching Nash play.

I loved watching Steve play, the only NBA player that fascinated me more was Magic Johnson. But I love watching Booker play too, even when his shot isn't falling. I'm surprised how many people seem to be hung up on his efficiency, weak though it is. Considering he is still just 20 years of age and considering that he played with a bad ankle and turf toe and considering that he was often the primary focus of opposing defenses and considering how little help he had around him I'm surprised that he had a higher efficiency than HOFer Allen Iverson.

Regardless, I'm confident that we'll see consistent improvement the next few years in efficiency and more importantly, his so obviously flawed defensive rotations. By all accounts, he's very driven and we can only hope he never loses that focus.

Not to say Booker isn't fun to watch because any player who can put up 22ppg as a 20yo and also record a 70pt game will always be fun to watch. I'm just saying his game isn't that fancy and with his inefficiency, I wouldn't call it must-see TV. Iverson wasn't efficient but he's got a 1st team all-Flash game.

Cool video featuring Booker and Russell. Hearing Booker talk about Call of Duty...if you know a little bit about E-Sports and Call of Duty in particular you realise from his words that he is into the competitive scene. He's not a casual player at all. There's even an interview out there where he talks about teaming on gamebattles when he was still in school. Dude's just a real competitor.

I think Booker's game is so smooth and his BBIQ, fundamentals, timing, shooting/passing mechanics are REALLY GOOD for 20 yo player. He doesn't need to make flashy passes or crossovers to be must-see TV.

Yup, his efficiency will get a lot better. Anybody who can shoot 3s, post-up, and has an extremely high FT rate when playing in ISO will have a pretty high TS%. His numbers would've been a lot better if not for those games pre-January. It's mostly his defense that will determine how great he'll be.
