After the Jackson/Parsons talk, really good discussion on Fizdale and Gasol and the Grizzlies Organization.

Also, if Pop gives Fiz props, thats just adds another reason why i like him.

Gregg Popovich on David Fizdale: “You don’t know what’s going on in another organization, but you know the people. I know Fiz. Like I told him, he should have no trouble whatsoever being hired elsewhere at some point, sooner rather than later, because he did a hell of a job. He knows his stuff, he cares, he cares about community as much as he does on the court. You hate to see that, but I know what his value is and how much he cares. It’s unfortunate that it happened. It doesn’t do any good to blame – ‘It’s because of this, it’s because of that.’ Everybody will just move on and hope that the team does well and that Fiz ends up well someplace else.”

Pop has backed every fired head coach publicly. I’m sure he said something supportive about Watson too if he was asked about it.

This is what you get in a guy like Fizdale

It’s called wagging the dogs tail. Basketball is like a coaching fraternity. Guys like Pop and Stevens actually talk regularly on the phone or meet in person to talk strategy, strategms, tricks and tactics. It’s a different level of commoradie compared to football. Not a lot of people know that.

I've mentioned Doncic being a hybrid Ingles/Ginobili..

But he also reminds me of a better dribbling and passing Turkoglu

I believe people should understand Luka is Pg. He might play as Point forward in Nba but he has all skills to be Pg. Ingles and Turkoglu haven’t/didn’t have.

I'm officially on the Doncic train.

Ginobli sounds about right for his floor. Also I'm curious why no one has brought up Bird as a ceiling. Shooting/creating/winning intangibles with so-so defense and athleticism...that's the hick from French Lick.

Bird was mentioned on a Ringer podcast I believe. Definitely mentioned in some podcast. I referred to the mention in this thread a while back. Yeah, he seems to have that extra feel for the game like Bird did.

So far for Luka comps we have:

Ginobili, Dragic, Ingles, Bird, Turkoglu, Bogdonovic, Gordon Hayward.

All white guys, all but 2 are international hahaha. I think the Dragic/Ginobili comparisons are very close though, and there have been a few people saying Harden to be fair. I also think Paul Pierce is a very good comp and hopeful ceiling outcome.

Luka is my guy all the way and has been all year.

Read on Twitter

One reason why I'm so high on Trae Young. He was double-teamed 43.7% of half court possessions. That's absolutely insane, and just further proof of the huge effect he has on defenses with his skillset. While his raw turnover numbers are definitely high, even with that kind of pressure his TOV% is about the same Lonzo Ball's last year (18.2 vs 18.6) while his AST% was much higher (48.5 vs. 31.4).

No prospect has ever had Ginobili as a floor, come on now.

I like lamar odom as a comp.

I see the Bird comparison and I agreed to it in one of the draft threads ..

But Bird was strong hence he was combo forward

Maybe as Doncic gets older and stronger he can be a forward so it all player.

I do like him as a combo forward better going forward mainly for defensive purposes.

I think Suns will get pick 3 so I'm preparing for that and I have Jackson Jr at that slot.

Suns then make splash via trades

I do too just because 3 is the hardest spot in the draft to project. JJJ is 3 for me too. I don't know why but I kind of get the feeling that JJJ and Bamba are 3, 4 in some order on their board. If the Suns truly want to start building a roster that makes sense both those guys can slide right in as the defensive anchor then the Suns can make a move for a veteran PG. That seems like the quickest way to make this roster work.

A vet PG would help more with immediate improvement vs say drafting young and going to vet route in the frontcourt.

I’m actually open to that. With the arrival of JJ, JJJ wouldn’t be bad at all. Love Bagley but JJJ fits as well. At the end of the day, I guarantee we will have one of Ayton Doncic Bagley or JJJ on our team.

That’s not a bad thing.

Outside of Curry....just a little outside, maybe. Bird was the best shooter this game has ever seen. I love hating him and the Celtics, but damn sure admired his game.

When Bird missed a shot, you were like “wtf?!? He missed, whew?!?” Lol
