After the Jackson/Parsons talk, really good discussion on Fizdale and Gasol and the Grizzlies Organization.
Also, if Pop gives Fiz props, thats just adds another reason why i like him.Gregg Popovich on David Fizdale: “You don’t know what’s going on in another organization, but you know the people. I know Fiz. Like I told him, he should have no trouble whatsoever being hired elsewhere at some point, sooner rather than later, because he did a hell of a job. He knows his stuff, he cares, he cares about community as much as he does on the court. You hate to see that, but I know what his value is and how much he cares. It’s unfortunate that it happened. It doesn’t do any good to blame – ‘It’s because of this, it’s because of that.’ Everybody will just move on and hope that the team does well and that Fiz ends up well someplace else.”
Pop has backed every fired head coach publicly. I’m sure he said something supportive about Watson too if he was asked about it.
This is what you get in a guy like Fizdale

It’s called wagging the dogs tail. Basketball is like a coaching fraternity. Guys like Pop and Stevens actually talk regularly on the phone or meet in person to talk strategy, strategms, tricks and tactics. It’s a different level of commoradie compared to football. Not a lot of people know that.
