Suns would have a ton of money for the offseason!! I don't like Smith's attitude though...

I think Newyork wouldn't do it.
it's clear that Anthony is going Knicks no matter what.
Why would they give up Chanler(who's playing good right now), Fields(whom dantoni loves), AR, and 1stRoundPIck.,.

Raps fan here,
Having watched Vince's entire career, he's still a pretty special player, obviously a HUGE HUGE upgrade over probably the most overrated player in the game in Turk, and I would say an upgrade over JRich too. I'm excited to watch him play with Steve Nash.

Suns fan here, some probably know me from PC Board. all I wanted to say is that you guys are idiots if you don't think Suns aren't gonna DRASTICALLY improve from this trade. I can easily bet my dick they're gonna finish on like ~55-60W pace for the rest of the year.

I mean how can you consider yourself Suns fans and not know what the F we effing need ?! Suns have been the worst rebounding team in recent history, worse than Nelson's Warriors, worse than any team I've ever seen. what we need is a big who can block shots, protect the paint and rebound.

Gortat's per36 numbers are 12 rebounds and almost 2 blocks. defense ? well, consider this: when Howard sits, Magic barely regress on defense. I've always said it, Gortat is one of the best defensive bigs in the league and you're gonna know soon enough. he's a great rebounder, he's very athletic and oh boy he's million times better than whatever scrubs we were playing this year.

Gortat alone makes this trade worthy, and now we're giving up Richardson who would walk away in the summer anyway, Turkoglu who sucks and is the worst player in the league as a PF and that freakin scrub Earl Clark who can't even dribble that goddamn ball, and you think we're not raping them ? and we're also getting Vince and Pietrus ? AND CASH ? AND FIRST ROUNDER ?!

this is one of the most lopsided trades in recent history, Gasol-to-Memphis ballpark. Suns are now easily top10-15 defense with Gortat, Pietrus and Carter. we're also better offensively because Barron isn't gonna be playing no mo'.

I'm getting my ass drunk tonight cause it's time to celebrate. don't be fooling yourselves, Suns are gonna be great!

Where'd you hear that he's excited?

I read the "damn" in his tweet.

And I think the whole "let's keep trading teammates/good friends you work so hard to build chemistry with!" thing probably got old, like, oh, I dunno, 3 years ago?

Anyways, here's to GORTAT:

we dump a ton of salary and get a big im all for it

Nash/Dragic
Dudley/Pietrus
Hill/Childress
Frye/Warrick
Lopez/Gortat (or reverse that I dont know)

Left out Carter we're still one wing over what we need but at least our frontcourt makes sense now

edit: not quite as optimistic as Bast

Gortat or Lopez starting?

Your not going to want anything to do with Pietrus in a few months. All the guy does is jack up 3s. He has taken 6 fta all season. He has the worst bball iq in the NBA.

J-Rich has low BB-IQ too and he fit in great. Don't need any of that next to Nash, just a guy who can catch and shoot, finish in transition, and play good perimeter D.

Pietrus does all of that.

This is a terrible trade, trading Jrich who's arguably at the peak of his career, who aside from Stat has been the player most in sync with Nash in the past 5 years, he was the only thing keeping us from being a basement team because the Nash/Richardson backcourt is the best in the nba. So now we got a guy in Carter whos on the tail end of his career, a guy in Gortat who will backup Lopez at the most, and a guy in Pietrus whos averages a grand total of 7 & 3 in 23 minutes.

Instead of taking steps forward we take a step back, we never needed a backup center, we never needed an extra wing. What we need is a starting caliber PF or C and unless they've got another trade lined up we're not getting what we need. This is just going to piss Nash off and believe me if he wants a trade he'll get a trade.

**** this team my hate for VC exceeds my love for Nash i really don't think i can watch this team anymore.

I think you're making way too big a deal of this. Remember the Amare trades that fell through during the 2009 draft? Nash ended up extending with the team AFTER that knowing full well Amare could be dealt at any time.

Unless a team actually offers something close to fair value or Nash outright demands a trade, both of which are highly unlikely, Nash will stay with the team.

In my opinion, this might work out. MIGHT.
I think this will happen:
1) next year, carter retires.
2) we trade either Josh Childress or Peitris, depending on this years performance..
3) we resign JRich, then sign a true PF

this is what I'm hoping for... otherwise, i don't like the deal.
carter is too old and an injury-prone player. Gortat is only a decent center. and finally, we don't need another wing player (Peitris). then, we lost JRich</3. I'm glad Hedo is gone though

Return to Phoenix Suns
