A game-high 14 points, six rebounds and four assists in just 13 minutes against Russia. Doncic turned 18 only a few months ago but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at him, physically he's already capable of banging with grown men.
I'm not concerned about him being able to defend on the next level at all, switching nowadays is more important on defense than lateral quickness - especially considering that Doncic will probably play the point forward position in the NBA. I can see Doncic being able to develop the ability to switch to defending power forwards, as well as switching onto guards for short periods of time, in the NBA without being a liability.

That's why I vehemently am against trading our pick next year if it falls in the top 5. Porter, Doncic, Bagley, Ayton, and Bamba are all guys who are either 5s or 4s or (in Doncic's scenario) capable of playing the 4. If Chriss is the guy who is out in the trade, it leaves Bender, who I believe can play either the 4 or 5. Getting a playmaking big is great for this team, and while Doncic is the most wingish of the group, I think he can defend 4s well enough if we commit to the small ball lineup.

Doncic is an 18 yr old kid, he's not going to guard 4's. He can play 1-3, with him guarding 3's. I love the kid by the way. I see him as a cross between Magic and Bird. I would love to see the Suns somehow get Bagley and Doncic, then declare they are ready to win.

He weighs 230. His body is not that of an 18 year old. I think he can easily guard a small ball 4.
