That wont be so easy. Lin and Asik were both given the same deals. Both will be making $14,898,938 a piece for a combined total of close to $30M.
You also have to think, if they are trying to clear the capspace for Lebron or Melo, they need to take back very little in return contracts. Lin isnt a high ticket player and i dont see a team under the cap taking a $15M hit for Lin to lead their team. He was severely overpaid and everyone around the league knows it. Asik is a rim protector and rebounder, but thats about it. Is he worth $15M? Hardly. Who even knows how good Asik is even more, He played in only just above half the games last season and his MPG were only improved to 20 due to him getting 30+ minutes the last few weeks of the season.
Houston could be a player for Lebron, but they have a lot of difficult hoops (on fire over a pit of vipers) to jump through to make it happen.
