I doubt he will come to Phoenix, but really, he'd be stupid not to.

If the Rockets move Lin and Asik I could see them being the favorites.

That wont be so easy. Lin and Asik were both given the same deals. Both will be making $14,898,938 a piece for a combined total of close to $30M.

You also have to think, if they are trying to clear the capspace for Lebron or Melo, they need to take back very little in return contracts. Lin isnt a high ticket player and i dont see a team under the cap taking a $15M hit for Lin to lead their team. He was severely overpaid and everyone around the league knows it. Asik is a rim protector and rebounder, but thats about it. Is he worth $15M? Hardly. Who even knows how good Asik is even more, He played in only just above half the games last season and his MPG were only improved to 20 due to him getting 30+ minutes the last few weeks of the season.

Houston could be a player for Lebron, but they have a lot of difficult hoops (on fire over a pit of vipers) to jump through to make it happen.

I agree it won't be easy, especially since some of the teams with the capspace to absorb those contracts will be looking to sign LeBron themselves and won't want to do the Rockets any favors. I was just throwing it out there because the Rockets seem sure they can just dump them.

Do you think LeBron would rather usher in the new era for the Clippers (if that will remain their name) and play under Doc, alongside CP3, Griffin and DeAndre or come to Phoenix, a team that failed to make the playoffs last season and has an owner that does not want to be in the luxury tax? I love the LeBron to Phoenix dream but it realistically does not make sense.

Makes more sense than LAC. The Clippers are already way over the cap and dont have the money to pay Lebron. They also would have to try to dump DeAndre for straight salary relief just to be even close to signing Lebron (and Lebron would still have to take a discount). Good luck on finding a team under the cap willing to take Jordan on without sending any money back.

CP3 - $20,068,563
BG - $17,632,688
DJ - $11,440,123

That just $48M just in 3 players without Lebron! They are sitting at $73M with just 9 players under contract for next season.

I was referring to the logical nature of LeBron's thought process in choosing a team and pointing out that his friendship with Bledsoe has very little to do with his process.

sign Lebron and trade Morris, Morris in a st for Melo?
or
sign Lebron and trade Dragic, Morris, Morris for Love?

mmm..

If i had to choose between the 2, i would sign Lebron and trade Dragic, Morris, Morris for Love.

Love is a great rebounder, passer, and can spread the floor giving Lebron room to do dirt in the paint. Melo seems to need the ball in his hands more, which Lebron does as well.

The Suns are very "shovel-ready" to acquire LeBron. Though, the last time we heard "shovel-ready" as a term paraded around in public conversation, it turned out to be a spectacular failure.

Not to mention that Dragic may be out of the Suns price range next year if they already have 3 max/near max guys on the roster.

The Suns need to send everyone they can for a massive presentation to Lebron James. Eric Bledsoe, Jerry Colangelo, Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, Luis Gonzalez, Larry Fitzgerald, and Kurt Warner. I do not care what it takes. You are talking about the best free agent available since Kobe was a free agent in 2004. The difference is that Lebron is legitimately considering leaving his current team unlike Kobe who never really wanted to leave the Lakers.

Realistically, I do not know any other team in the league that can offer as much as the Suns can when it comes to a full team ready to go. The Spurs just proved the best team will beat a team of three superstars and very little else. The Suns are loaded at guard with Dragic, Bledsoe, Green, and Goodwin. Have a very productive, athletic center in Plumlee and a prospect in Len. They have the Morris brothers. The Suns would be able to sign him to a max contract and not have to scramble to sign an entire team afterwards.

The key is obviously Eric Bledsoe. I know Lebron and Carmelo are friends but what team out there can sign them both and still have enough money to put a real team around them? The Lakers would need them to both take pay cuts to get them and then they would have to sign like eight players to minimum contracts. A team of Kobe, Lebron, and Carmelo on paper looks great but in reality, all three play virtually the same roles. They need the ball all the time and then who are their big guys, their point guard, and bench? Lebron needs a full team to play with to win another championship.

Where is it being reported that LeBron is considering leaving Miami? Opting out, and doing so five days in advance of the deadline, is likely a precursor to returning to a Miami team that had sufficient time to look at their options in preparation of a retool.

Also helps that the league is currently saturated with good PG's. Im sure we could get a decent fill in. Lebron kinda plays a point-foward role and im sure Bledsoe will have the ball in his hands the rest of the time, so we could replaces Dragic with a spot up 3 point shooter to cover the PG/SG role depending on where we play Bledsoe. I mean a team with Bledsoe/Lebron/Love will draw in veteran players signing for cheap to get themselves a ring.

Hell, The Wolves WANT to package Martin in with Love in trades.

Bledsoe/Martin/Lebron/Love/Plumlee would work out great!

****, I'd trade a 1st round pick (27th?) for DeAndre Jordan. He's the perfect C this team needs. Athletic, rebounds, defenders, doesn't need the ball in his hands.

With LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony officially opting out of their contracts, multiple teams have begun the process of exploring roster moves that would create sufficient salary-cap space to try to sign 2014's marquee free agents in tandem this summer, according to sources close to the situation. They only mentioned the Cavs, Heat, and Hawks. Do you think we're one of the teams though?
Our depth is a key part of this IMO. Cheap youth. Add Anthony and James and then re-sign Bledsoe. We'd be ridiculously deep.
Don't keep Frye and Tucker.

I think we could re-sign Dragic to a raise next year and I think he would stay for 10M$ per to play with Bledsoe, James and Melo for the rest of his career.

Bledsoe might not demand the full max if we can lure Lebron and Melo here to play with him.

Lets say

Bledsoe 12
Dragic 12
Melo 18
James 18

That is 60M$ tied up and the luxury tax is 81M$?

Why do people want Lebron AND Carmelo on the Suns? The play the same position. Neither one of them can guard power forwards in the West. I would rather add Lebron to play with the rest of the current team. The Suns would have to start trading away players for nothing just to get under far enough under the cap to attempt to sign them. If that happened, the team would be depleted. Who else would be on the team?

Return to Phoenix Suns
