I think the front office, and they’d never admit it, has bagged this season already. As they should. At least they have some real nba players, some pretty talented, that they have cobbled together. A few will be dealt for sure. Wishbia will hardsell a playoff spot as being a victory on the year.

Apparently waiting on the SudanMan was in the cards. Thus Williams, and keeping Richards.

I haven’t seen his play other than Duke, and I wasn’t wowed. Disappointing but not surprising to hear the eye witness reports. At least with the C depth, fragile as it may be, they don’t have to play this kid much if any. I see the GLeague in his future.

For a guy who shot 76.6% in college, we should expect more from Maluach at the FT line

But yeah, Dunn and Oso shooting 30% or worse from the FT line is embarrassing. They've had a whole year in the league to work on it

It's wise to give as little thought as possible to summer league. He's very young. This was likely the worst version of Khaman Maluach we will ever see.

I’ll be honest, it took me all about the first quarter watching maluach play to know he needs to put on muscle. He got bullied by a couple of guards right out the gate. When he’s able to hold his own strength wise downlow people are going to stop driving at him like that. He looks a bit more raw than I thought he would be but there was also some glimmer of things he did that I didn’t know he could. If he can avg 12/9/1.5 being a threat From three 35%+ I’d be pretty happy.

Right now, the main value he brings is just his size which as I've seen has deterred a bunch of players from even attempting to score in the paint. Deterrence has value. I've also seen him use his length to bother shots which is another good thing.

What does worry me is his quickness which was enough at the college level but at this next level, I don't know if it's quite enough. But perhaps a big part of what makes him look a step slow is just not being in NBA shape. Pretty much every rookie will/does go through an NBA strength and conditioning program and that's why players look in much better condition in the sophomore year than in their rookie year and I think he really needs it more than most.

Definitely true. Oso certainly looks like he picked up some speed and footwork this year at 23. Give Maluach a strength and conditioning pass. Hell people on this board gave Ayton a low IQ and motor pass for years.

I’ve always been a big believer, top 10 picks should be immediate contributors. Projects should be late rounders.

Two rooks didn't play and the one who did had less FGA than 8 of 10 players who got minutes. I understand not risking Dunn injury, but no one else looks as important contributor this season, so what's the point of keeping them out.
