I am still trying to figure out why the Suns would want Deng. He would take all their cap space up. So that would mean - unless somebody took Chandler and Dudley, over 40m of the cap would be totally wasted. If you add in the unknown of Knight, that 55m dollars Maybe for Ingram and Kuzma - but not picks - do not need more picks. I am okay with not going forward with making moves just to make moves - on multiple year deals - meaning don't redo 2010 with Hakim, Josh and Hedo. But Deng would be going sideways or to me, backwards. He has two years left on his deal.
The only way I do this deal is if a three team deal
Team X gets Deng , the Suns pick either 16 this year or a future non lottery first rounder and the pick from the Lakers
Lakers get cap space
Suns get Kuzma: I would give up a first round pick for Kuzma -
It really is mind blowing that he will be making over 17mil each of the next 2 years. LA brass was a disaster that summer.

and like you have sad Week - if the right long term veteran is not available - find a veteran that is willing to take a one year overpay like the Sixers did with Reddick. At worst - I mean at worst, a one year overpay becomes a cap buyout on March 1 -- but also could be an expiring trade candidate next spring
So I agree - tread lightly - hopefully SArver is gone - as really I think he makes some panic moves at times too
and by the way, I went to the NBA Capulator and the way to get Deng /Kuzma is this if Dudley and Chandler are not traded or stretched:
renounce Len Payton and Peters
waive Ulis and Williams BEFORE 7/1
Trade Deng/Kuzma for like Daniels
Now, after extending Booker - do you know how much cap space the Suns have - zilch. Not only this summer but next year
I just am not sure Kuzma is worth all of that
