What if jv scores 16pts and 12 rebs? Hes also under a very reasonable contract of 14.5mil, 3 yrs remaining? I dont blame you, his defence is making it hard to value him even after his playoff run where he singlehandedly saved the raptors. would phoneix not be willing to trade pj tucker chandler and a future lotto protected first round pick for jv?
I highly doubt we would do anything like that.
16 points....18 points.....it really doesnt matter when your defense is soooo bad that you are giving up those same points that you are scoring. I just dont see a deal with Toronto coming to fruition. I see some posters trying to jack up his perceived value, yet there are soooooo many that just want to get him the hell out of Toronto, and that reasoning is the same reasoning that causes posters from other teams to pass oh him.
The 2 things i care most about coming from my C is Defense and Rebounding. Defense always comes 1st. If there is no defense, then the rebounding really doesnt matter to me. If all we cared about was points and rebounds, instead of trading assets for Val, we could go after Okafor or even Monroe. In my eyes, they are the same kind of player as Val, just younger and/or would take considerably less assets to attain than what some Toronto fans are expecting for Val. I mean you guys might be able to get a return for him around what you are asking, but i dont see anyway that its coming from the Suns.
