It would be great if we could trade Brooks to Lakers for both of their 1. round picks. We can than pick Lillard and Moultrie and with our own lottery pick (sg or sf) we would have 3 positions set for the future.

I approve this idea

we will likely be what, anywhere from 7-12, plus 19 and 22.
Ask for Caracter, too.

somewhere in 8-12 would be Sullinger, Beal, MKG, Moultrie
19 and 22 would be guys like Wroten, Teague, Lillard

That's a nice haul

Sullinger will be a bust.

Beal and MKG recent play has not been impressive.

The Jazz will also be gunning for lillard.

But i agree with the brooks for picks idea.

I still vote for Lamb or Rivers with our highest pick.

God damn MKG is exactly what this team needs.

MKG is, along Thomas Robinson, my favorite player from upcoming draft class and, if he develop reliable jumper, can be superstar on the next level, imo. This guy is a born competitor and warrior.

If he, Davis or Robinson aren`t avaliable I wouldn`t mind Rivers, Lamb or Beal as our lottery pick.

I'd take Davis over anyone on the draft..... but only if Suns win No.1 pick :-)

Wow, Anthony Davis is amazing defensively, just uncredible. He reminds me an hybrid between Camby and Marion. Terrific speed, leaping ability, motor and high IQ for his age. First pick for sure in my opinion.

If we select around the 9-11 pick, my choice is Lamb, he has all the tools to be an All Star in the NBA. Another great option can be Henson, I think he is only one step behind Anthony Davis in defense.

IF we were to go for a big man in the draft i would also like Henson. Also Moultrie is another one i would like for the suns. Of course i would like to have Davis or Robinson but, its not likely they fall that low. Although i highly doubt the suns go after a pf after just drafting Morris, not to mention the suns love affair with frye....

To me, he could be the replacement for Marion. I think he'll be that good defensively. With our system, he could easily get 15-17 ppg as is. Develop a jumpshot and better ball-handling skills and he's a superstar. I think he has the drive to do it too.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

and if we could manage to pick up a late 1st and draft his teammate Teague, :droop: :droop: :droop:

That combo would help us immensely with our rebuild. I dont know if we could walk away from the draft any better.

I`m not impressed that much with Marquis Teague. PG`s related, I`d rather draft Lillard or Wroten (I guess Kabongo is staying in college one more year).

What happened to the 'great' 2012 draft?
"Everyone talks about how great this draft is," one NBA GM told ESPN.com. "On paper in July, it really looked that way. On the ground in February, I'm not that impressed. Anthony Davis is great. But after that, there are a lot of question marks and a surprising lack of depth. I'm not sure that the 2012 draft will be better than the 2011 one."

Totally agree - love all those guys, I remember seeing Lamb in the tourney last year and thinking he looked like a legit NBA guy with that skillset

Henson would be perfect here as a stretch 4/big 3

Davis...pipedream...and he needs to cut that mono or he's going to hear it throughout his career

We need to make a trade with that GM A.S.A.P.

Right now Hollinger's playoff odds project us to be tied for the 8th worst record.

http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds

Now I doubt we will be able to get into the worst 5 teams, but it is quite considerable how much better your lottery odds get better from like the 9th worst record to the 6th worst record. If you look at the 2011 lottery, look at #6 vs #9....odds go from 6.3% (about 1 in 15) to 1.7% (about 1 in 59).

http://www.mynbadraft.com/nba-draft-lottery-odds

(Sidenote - does anyone know if the lottery odds changed in the new CBA because if you compare the odds on the two links that I put above, they aren't totally in sync....and it appears in Hollingers, that if they have changed, that the odds have improved for the spots after the top 3

To get to the 6th worst record, we would likely need to be passed up by Sacramento and NJ, and finishing worse than Cleveland. I think this is possible since Sac and Cleveland are reliant on young players who may improve, and if NJ happens to trade for Howard, they will almost certainly pass us up (so we should all be hoping for that....also because it keeps him out of the west.)

I don't know if that is inconceivable. I really haven't been pulling for us to lose, because it is hard for me to, but just remember, it's not set in stone that we will get the draft pick we are slotted for....it is very possible we could move up into the top 3 (but the odds are so much better if we can get into the six).

So, as the front office has to prepare for, we should include it in our discussion here...IF we get a top 3 pick, who do we take at each of those spots, and then, otherwise, we are likely to be somewhere in the 6-10 range, who do we take then.

If we lucked out in lottery and get 1. pick (lady fortune really owes us some lucky break!) obvious choice would be Anthony Davis. This kid is going to be defensive force in the NBA and also great in pick n roll with Nash (I suppose he will stay) from the very beginning.

If we get 2. pick I`d draft Mike Kidd-Gilchrist who can be a future leader of our team with his combination of hard work and talent.

Third player I really like is Thomas Robinson.

In 6-10 range I`d pick Jeremy Lamb or Brad Beal.

I`d pass on Perry Jones, Sullinger, Henson and Zeller bros.

Non-lottery picks I`d like to obtain via trade are Moultrie, Lillard, Wroten and Quincy Miller.

Pick number 2 has gotta be Andre Drummond.
The guy is Amare Stoudemire, with better rebounding, and Dwight Howard shotblocking.

6-10... We should be looking at Harrison Barnes or Brad Beal. Both of them would be great picks if we can get them in that range

Really, DRK? If he`s Amare with better rebounding and Howard shotblocking he must be the best bigman ever?

In reality, Drummond is all hype. He does have top physics but still doesn`t know how to use them.

And I`d really like for him to start using his talent because I`ve seen little of it watching UCONN this season.

Drummond scares the crap out of me....NO WAY i take that chance at the second pick. I'm going with my man Harrison Barnes!

Any pick after that I'm taking Lamb
