Maybe it might be better to keep and try to play Chandler (not that we may have much of a choice) quite a bit next year to limit Len's value. Chandler will likely continue to be injury prone but if we work on rehabilitating him over the next year and hopefully building his trade value and maybe trading him trade deadline or summer 2017 if possible, when he only has 2 years left on contract that would be in all parties best interest.

I'm thinking $10-11 mil

Let him walk then, he's no Gobert. A replacement level center is not gunna command that much on the open market even if unrestricted despite being a scarcity at the position. If he hasn't supplanted Chandler as starter by his 4th year he's an official bust.

I don't think you can let a guy that young, with the abilities he has shown, walk. That's a waste of four years of investment into a guy. Centers usually blossom later. He isn't Gobert, but he is a year younger (yes I realize he wasn't what Gobert was last year either) but there are not that many Gobert types out there. If you have a 7 ft guy you can shoot like he can from midrange, and is a solid rebounder and decent shot blocker, you certainly don't let him walk for nothing.

If Len stays healthy, he'll only get better. He can both protect the rim and stifle post players. He's not a "solid rebounder" - he's a great rebounder, though not elite. I've seen him make smart passes and make jumpers on consecutive possessions. He's making fewer and fewer boneheaded plays. He's been healthier this season than anyone on our roster not named PJ Tucker, Devin Booker and Archie Goodwin. He's played some 4 in a pinch this season and played well. His steal numbers are improving; his turnovers are coming down.

SOME PEOPLE just can't help but view the world through shaded glasses. If you're up, everything's up; if you're down, everything's down. Reality's somewhere in the middle.

In a few years, there's a good chance $11 million will seem like a helluva bargain.

I said many times that Len is in tough situation in Phoenix:
- our guards aren't good at working with frontcourt and our whole offensive system is not utilising big men (except for Kieff)
- team is really terrible at defence which lead to Len fouling a lot
- inconsistent minutes
- injuries

Even former DPOY Chandler looks bad here so what to expect from as unexperienced player like Len. But if you put him on a different team where he would be used as a part of offense, with better perimeter defenders (so not everybody will get to the basket at will) he would look a lot better. If Len was playing for Spurs, Mavs or Grizzlies I'm sure we would all here want to trade for him.
I would like to see him getting 30 minutes a game but since we have Chandler on big deal and Len is getting new contract after next year it's more reasonable to play him 22-25 minutes hoping he will go under the radar for other teams.

Can't belive people calling him a bust. He will not be great center but can be good starting center and that is very valuable.

Morris got $8m in a $60m salary cap.

Len could get $12m in a 90m salary cap.

Yawn. Fine. We aren't drawing free agents. We have to keep our own. Its not like we are going to get anyone better.

Welp another big game for Alex. Kid looks better and better every game. Far more confident in himself, especially in his mid range j that's obviously been improving. His face up game can already be solid with his size and speed, and that jumper coming along could take it to a higher level. Looking forward to seeing how this kid develops, as he's certainly come a long way already.

His mid range game seems super solid most of the season. He just needs to get the shots. Hopefully he expands his range. He is money from mid range. If he could become even close to that from 3, this team could REALLY excel as long as the guards keep him involved.

I'd rather he drive into the paint.

No matter how good his 16 foot jump shots are they're never going to be better than 40%.

Amare improved his mid-range jumper to a very respectable level, I think Len has the fluidity to continue to improve his. Sure I'd like to keep Alex in the paint more so than outside but it gives us the option to run a high pick and roll where we keep both defenders honest.

Really happy to see another big time performance by Len. 22 points, 16 rebounds, 2 blocks and a clutch face up jumper.

Len is also averaging 18 and 11 over his last 4 games. Small sample size but great to see!

Apparently Len is the #1 option now for the Suns. Like Kief he responded well in his first game against Memphis. Let's see how he does the rest of the season.

Some 7 footers just look like one of the guys out on the court. Alex always looks big, no matter who he is playing with.

Len has some very desirable talents. I could see him signing for closer to 15 million per season than 10. And I think he would likely be worth it.

17/11 since all star break, on 43% shooting... Huge positives with some negatives. I was hoping we could sign him on a deal less than Tyson's for a few years to make sure he deserves a bigger deal.

That shooting percentage is horrible for a big.

I definitely agree. Part of it is him not playing with anyone that really sets him up. He should definitely be shooting better just based on shooting close to the basket.

Anyone know where a shot chart is for him?
