letsgosuns wrote:That article about Lance Blanks and the Morris brothers blows me away. Three things stand out to me. This first thing is this part of the article: "This is when the story could say that the Suns made the "safe" choice with Morris, although they were aware of the twins being linked to a 2009 fight between the Kansas football and basketball teams and Marcus' misdemeanor battery charge in 2012."
How can people defend the Morris brothers. Six years of bad behavior. Supposedly fighting in college in 2009. Now they are accused of felony aggravated assault in 2015. Marcus had a misdemeanor battery charge in 2012. When you watch that video of Marcus yelling at Hornacek, he did not look like a rational person. He appeared more like an angry man full of rage. I honestly felt that the Suns would trade him after that but they never did. I guess this front office is much more willing to put up with that garbage than Colangelo was unfortunately.
The second thing that stands out is the fact that the Suns were more interested in Jimmer Fredette than Kawhi Leonard. There are no words for something like that. I am speechless about that one. Finally, the third thing that stands out to me is that Blanks was not a fan of European players. Didn't he work for the Spurs? How can you work for the Spurs and see how much success they have had by drafting European players and then not be interested in them. Makes no sense. I do not know who was worse. Kevin Towers or Lance Blanks. I am going to say they are pretty much equal. Both of them are the worst general managers I have seen in their respective fields.
I was not aware of these other alleged misconduct issues with the twins fighting football players at Kansas, and didn't know about Marcus' misdemeanor assaults charge when he was with the Rockets. These guys have anger issues, and violence seems to be a solution they resort too in order to solve problems. A part of me says they can mature and grow out of this if someone cares and has patience to work with them. The other part of me says they should know better by now, and need to start showing maturity and growth as adults. Unfortunately with this current violence related incident in Phoenix, and even if they were just on the periphery of the action and didn't participate, it still show they haven't grown up and matured.
I trust McD to deal with this in the best way to help the team. He might dump them for scraps, try to trade them for value, or hold on to them long term. I hope they go in some sort of trade.
