Part of me thinks he wouldn't have to schedule a meeting with Riley if he was just going to stay, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

For what it's worth:

I ate lunch at the Carl's Jr at the US Airways arena to see if I could get any insider info. I saw Robert Sarver in the lobby talking to one of his assistants. He was talking about event preparation (probably future charity event stuff). His demeanor was all business. He didn’t look giddy, like I would expect if he had just received confirmation his team landed the greatest basketball player on the planet. He also was unshaven and looked tired. The people coming out from the Suns’ office heading to lunch also did not look overly excited.

My inference:

The Suns had their pitch to LeBron last night but were not given a confirmation. I believe they were told LeBron would talk to Riley (today) and make his decision. I think the Suns are still very much in it. I’m hoping that the meeting with Riley is to tell him that he’s not coming back (to Miami). I think LeBron learned that it’s best to tell the bad news to your present team face to face.

Love your outside of the box thinking to get some info. Thanks

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Here's how I see this whole situation:
(and maybe this is all known by everybody - but after days and thousands of posts/theories... a basic summary might be nice because there has been SO much written/posted/tweeted/etc... or maybe I just need to put it in writing to help my own sanity! haha...)

Lebron's agent met with teams last week, including the suns.

LBJ/Rich Paul tell the Suns that they are choice #3. First choice is to stay in Miami, with the 2nd choice going home to CLE. He says he'll only stay in MIA if they improve the roster, so he's giving them a chance. He's also waiting to see if CLE can make some trades to clear up space for him and someone else. (This is why MIA and CLE people think they are the top choice for LBJ - because, they really are... just with some contingencies)

So he tells the Suns that if they want to be patient and take the chance to wait to see what MIA/CLE does, then they're in the running.

The Suns then say, "yeah - we'll wait because we dont think MIA or CLE can pull either of those things off, and you're best chance of winning is here. We'll have some deals ready for other guys for when you say yes." (PHX starts shopping around Dragic/others for Love/George/whoever LBJ wants)

After a week, LBJ met with CLE 2 days ago, PHX last night, and MIA today to get updates on all 3 to see where they're at. He makes a decision tonight, sleeps on it, and announces it tomorrow. (My guess!)

So basically, I think the Suns are betting against the front office of MIA/CLE and if they strike out on everyone else because of that... they're ok with taking that risk, will regroup with their young guys from last year and hope for a healthy season and a playoff appearance. Then try for a star next summer.

Yeah, super smart idea! Thanks for doing that!

Event preparation - LeBron wants another introduction event?
All business - Still trying to land Love?
Unshaven and looked tired - Out all night partying with LeBron in Vegas?
People coming out of the office not looking excited - Only some people were invited to party with LeBron?

haha, but more seriously, at this point, I will be intrigued by whatever LeBron does, but everything has an explanation:
MIA - doesn't want to leave Riley/Wade; doesn't want to just jump around to different teams
CLE - wants to go back home and 'right' his legacy (debatable)
PHX - wants to take the best option currently available (no bias  )

What time were you there? I was just there too (I work for a non-profit and was meeting with a rep about fundraising/charity stuff). I even sat down at Carls Jr while we were waiting... haha. We got a tour of the arena - kept looking for anyone/anything interesting. We walked right by the practice court, but couldn't go in because the suns were in there practicing. (peeked through the door window as we walked by, only saw assistants). We also saw the Mercury working out... Griner is huge.

Why are people still talking about LeBron on here? What have you heard, from a legitimate source, within the last couple days that indicates LeBron is interested in coming here? Everything that has been reported is Cleveland or Miami, with Miami holding a clear lead.

We heard that Sarver, Babby and McD met in person with LeBron's agent and we heard that they have yet to be told they are out. That's why we are still talking about it.

The Mavs and Lakers brass met with LeBron's agent too, but no one on their boards' are talking about it. Not one major media outlet has mentioned anything about the Suns and LeBron in nearly a week.
