I imagine he will then tell Riley he is staying in Miami, or that he is heading to the Suns, but felt he had to tell Riley face to face.
Part of me thinks he wouldn't have to schedule a meeting with Riley if he was just going to stay, but maybe that's wishful thinking.
For what it's worth:
I ate lunch at the Carl's Jr at the US Airways arena to see if I could get any insider info. I saw Robert Sarver in the lobby talking to one of his assistants. He was talking about event preparation (probably future charity event stuff). His demeanor was all business. He didn’t look giddy, like I would expect if he had just received confirmation his team landed the greatest basketball player on the planet. He also was unshaven and looked tired. The people coming out from the Suns’ office heading to lunch also did not look overly excited.
My inference:
The Suns had their pitch to LeBron last night but were not given a confirmation. I believe they were told LeBron would talk to Riley (today) and make his decision. I think the Suns are still very much in it. I’m hoping that the meeting with Riley is to tell him that he’s not coming back (to Miami). I think LeBron learned that it’s best to tell the bad news to your present team face to face.
Love your outside of the box thinking to get some info. Thanks
