I am just surprised because I saw A LOT of posters on here complaining this morning that the Suns were sitting on their hands doing absolutely nothing while all their supposed free agent targets were being signed. Then out of nowhere they sign Tyson Chandler who is still a premier center in the league. In addition, they then brought Chandler into the meeting with LeMarcus Aldridge. With or without Aldridge, the Suns defense and rebounding should be vastly improved. Yet people are like, what happens in two years when Chandler might not be as good. I am thinking, what about THIS COMING YEAR where the Suns would absolutely suck in the frontcourt again if they brought back the same group of players. Stop thinking so far into the future. Did anybody think Grant Hill had anything left when he signed with the Suns? Why are people so obsessed with age? The Spurs won a title when the core of the team was in their mid-thirties. Bottom line is the Suns filled some glaring needs with the Chandler signing. Who else did you want them to sign instead? Millsap for 20 million a year?
It was obviously a smart move. On it's own, it's not a great signing if we are rebuilding and want to play the young guys, but since the FO if trying to compete, it works.....he may not be a good contract later, but cap space will be there if we have a pitch...and it seems like we are good at that.
