But I don't think IT is going to be happy as a backup and while he played like an allstar for the first 10 games, he's looked like a backup PG recently.

I'd resign Green for a 4 year deal at 6 mil a year, but anymore and he can walk. We have TJ waiting in the wings and lots of other talented 3's to choose from in trades and free agency.

I'd like to keep Plumlee and see if he can regain his confidence. Remember, he has a 42" verticle and is 7 feet tall! I don't know why he has been playing with rock hands and cement feet this year.

But if we have a chance to pick up another big guy or underrated SF for a package of Green, IT, and Plumlee, I pull that trigger in a heartbeat.

I just don't know why any team would want an egotistical 5'9" PG, a shot happy SF on a contract year, and a center who has played like **** all season long.

I think we probably hold steady and try to make the playoffs.

That's WAY too much money. And I don't just say that because I'm not a fan of Green's game.

By giving Green $6M/yr along with the Bledsoe/IT/Tucker/Morris contracts given out, your squandering a ton of cap space.

Your basically committing to this core saying that you think this group can eventually improve enough to be a contender.

Green will probably get that type of money but it shouldn't be from a rebuilding team like us, it should be from a contender who is like one shooter away or something.

Totally agree. In a vacuum, $7m for IT is a good deal, $8m for Kieff is a good deal, $6m for Green isn't bad but when you start adding these deals together and you realise you've spent a fairly large chunk of your cap space on inconsistent niche players.

I'd be much more comfortable if Green could do a little more than just jacking 3's.

theres probably not a deal out there that makes us much better right now, at least not one that can severely backfire on us, i can see us McD sticking with what we got and ride it out for the rest of the season, and see what the landscape looks like in the summer. its not a bad idea i think.

Don't like it. JD is on the downslope of his career.

Dudley's actually playing well this year, 7 pts, 3 rebounds, 2 assists a game on 48% shooting including, wait for it, 40% from 3! All this in only 22 mins per game.

Dudley was always great for the Suns as a 6th man type player.

Plus he had chemistry with Goran and his contract expires after next season.

hows his weight, is he still skinny enough to play SG? JD was my favorite player during the 2010 run, if he ultimately replaces G green in the rotation i would mind it, do it in hopes his BBIQ rub off on Archie

Isaiah Thomas for Calderon + to involve 3rd team, where we get 1st round future pick

Calderon is high-IQ veteran guard who isn't ball dominant. He is OK with regular role-player minutes (Thomas on the other hand want's to be equal piece in 3 guard rotation)

PG/SG: Dragic+Bledsoe (60 min), Calderon (15 min)
SG: Green (21 min)
SF: Tucker, Marcus
PF: Markieff, Wright
C: Len, Wright

Bench: Ennis, Goodwin, Zoran, Warren, Plumlee

You want to play 7+ million the next few years for a soon to be 33-year point guard that doesn't play any kind of defense to be your 15 min a game back up? That's insane, sorry. For instance, Prigioni could fit in this role just as well and he propably can be had for a second round pick.

I think the Knicks learned their lesson from trading 1st rd picks away.

I don't think Phil Jackson will make that same mistake again.

Green
Shavlik
Plumlee

for

Ryan Anderson
Jeff Withey

That gives our second unit a flat out DOMINANT offensive balance - inside and outside, and allows Dragic or Bledsoe to play more mins at SG. Imagine Bledsoe penetrating and have the D collapse, he has Wright inside, or kick it out to Mook in one corner, Anderson in another, and Thomas at the top. Dangerous. Anderson is also a really good rebounder and a solid locker-room dude from what I've seen. I like Green, but he is erratic, a ball-hog and he is prone to long slumps, plus he'll want to get paid, whereas Anderson is locked up next year as well for $8.5m.

Len
Markieff
Tucker
Dragic
Bledsoe
------
Wright
Anderson
Mook
? Not Goodwin, yet. One of Goran/Bled would slot in here to help continuation
Thomas
---
Warren
Ennis
Withey

Ryan would be great here, but do Magic have any need for green or plumlee? It seems like they would much rather have a pick for him, maybe we gamble by giving them the suns pick as well, top 7 protected perhaps

He's on the Pelicans buddy!

I guess with Eric Gordon back now they don't need him as much, nor do they probably need Green with Evans chucking off the bench...

oh damn you are right, that fundamentally changes the approach to this, maybe we can sell Plumlee on being a good back up..:dontknow: But i do think it would be nice to get Ryan here, a front court rotation of Kieff/Anderson, and Len/Wright would be quite alright, it would take a three team trade i bet to make it happen

I would probably start Anderson if we got him. I think he would be a better fit for Len and Goran. Plus we could unite the Morris bros, and let Wright do all the dirt work the brothers seem to forget to do.

Dragic
Tucker
Green

for
Wes Mathews
Nicolas Batum

I know we don't want to get rid of Dragic, but Mathews might be a better fit with Bledsoe. Batum is a smart wing, who can handle the rock, he hasn't been playing so well this year, so we might be able to buy low here. The Blazers do this to add another guard who can create their own shot, and have depth at the wing position.

IT
for
Jeremy Lin

I think Lin would be a good fit here, even coming off the bench. He's a smart high character guy. And just like that we get rid of two chuckers.

I don't see why Portland does the trade since they are playing well.

I like Lin, but his contract still sucks, doesn't it?

Overall I like Dragic too much, and want to see a full season of Bledsoe and him running the show.

Of course. He would open the floor for Dragic and Bledsoe like Frye did.

So you think he is unattainable? Or would he cost too much to get?

After looking at it, I don't see a deal that would work, without giving up many picks, or a third team.
