Re: 2014 Official FA Thread
I wonder if Orlando would be willing to deal the 4th.
Bledsoe + 18 for Afflalo + 4.
Bledsoe gives them their PG and don't have to take a risk with Exum and Olidipo/Bledsoe backcourt would be nasty.
Suns get Afflalo, a solid defensive minded 2 who can knock down the open 3 and pick up the 4th pick and go after a big Noah Vonleh or Gordon.

To move that far up your going to have to add #14 and I'd rather keep Bledsoe if the wiggins and Parker are off the board

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.
Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Re: 2014 Official FA Thread
You can't trade Bledsoe on draft day.
But maybe a month later... Sign and trade perhaps.

Re: 2014 Official FA Thread
I'd rather trade Dragic in that scenario and make it Dragic/#27 for and #4/Afflalo
Dragic would go well with Oladipo and is a tastier morsel if Orlando would swallow.
Then trade Frye/#14 for the Kings #8
Draft Exum and Gordon/Vonleh
Draft Warren/Hood at #18
Bledsoe/Goodwin
Exum/Green
Afflalo/Hood or Warren/Morris
Morris/Vonleh or Gordon
Plumlee/Len
We would then have a crap ton of assets and cap for 2015 to trade for a superstar to bring on.

I'd rather not make any of these "moves".

Agreed. If he doesn't work, he's just a 1 year rental and we may be able to trade him for something (I think you can trade amnesty guys the first year but I forget. If not, then just play out the year).

We weren't allowed to trade Scola for a full year. I think it's the same for any amenitied player.

Re: 2014 Official FA Thread
Stephenson believes he is getting under the skin of James, who earlier Sunday said he does not want to get in a verbal back and forth with Stephenson.
"To me, I think it's a sign of weakness because he never used to say nothing to me," Stephenson said. "I always used to be the one who used to be the one that say, 'I'm going to get under you. I'm going to do something to get you mad' Now he's trying to do it to me. I feel like it's a weakness.
I don't want this guy on our team. Even at the minimum.Period.
Beasley looks like a brilliant mind next to him.

After Stevenson's performance last night, I think James did a good job getting into Lance's head. But clearly there is a lot of empty space in there.

Re: 2014 Official FA Thread
Anyone know how the waver wire works in regards to contract? If we pick up Boozer on the wire is his new contract 1 year because he would've only had one year left on his old contract?

I believe this is correct. But he is also untradeable for a year. I think that rule was intended to keep teams from bidding just to trade the player elsewhere.
With amnesty the rules are a bit different that the waiver wire.

I suppose I meant amnesty. I only ask because if we can't upgrade the PF position in a trade and we don't want to start Keiff picking up Boozer might make sense. Especially if his contract is expiring in one year and he's cheap.

Starting Kieff is not a bad option.

Agreed. Think we'd need length, shooting, and rebounding at the 3 spot to make it work, though. That's a lot to ask.
Kieff could be a perennial 6MOY or a below-average starting PF. His lack of rebounding and shotblocking ability limits his ceiling. Starting Kieff is a temporary solution unless we have elite play at the 3 and 5 spots.

I agree. I just think that with Bledsoe's extension this off season and Dragic and the Morris Bro.s next year something has to give. Also McD has talked about upgrading the front court. Just another option if the Bulls decide to part ways. Also adding him in this situation wouldn't cost any assets.

Trade away our clear best player? I don't see the reasoning behind that.
I don't want to give away Dragic or Bledsoe. It was obvious that with those 2 healthy all year, we would have been a Top6 seed. We could add another piece or two and make a serious run.

Below average starting PF? Gurl you crazy.

In no particular order, the starting PFs who are better than (above) and worse than (below) Markieff Morris. Some of those listed above are arguable (Boozer, Nene, Frye), as are some listed below (Gibson, Jones, Sullinger). You could play around with the definition of PF, but I think it's clear that Markieff is not better than the 16th PF in the league. And in this draft, I think Randle, Vonleh, Saric, and probably Gordon will all be better than Markieff. Maybe Payne and Capela will also be. So, yeah. I feel pretty confident that Markieff is below-average as a starter.
