To get rid of Googs, who we shouldn't have signed in the first place, we traded away an unprotected first from NY, which turned into Hayward. We could have drafted Gobert if we had wanted. Plus there was a lot of movement in that draft, and we may have received a few picks for our fifth pick, and still drafted centers like Adams or Gobert.
Oh well, they are gelling, and we are not. Plus with injuries, trades, and up and down play, we will have a hard time getting a rhythm going.
In all fairness, almost every team passed on Gobert , even the team that ended up drafting him didn't use their first pick in the draft on him - can't really blame Suns ownership for that. The only fans that can legitimately be pissed off about not having Gobert on their team are Nuggets supporters.
I wasn't mad at the FO for passing on Gobert' for there is still a lot of upside in Len. Just kind of laughing at this, "oh Utah is doing right", idea. They found a grove, winning is usually a result of that. We didn't come into the season looking to play for each other.
Guys seemed to come into the season more with individual in mind. Bledsoe maybe wanting to prove he was worth the contract, but is rushing things. Maybe agora wanted to prove he is the man on the team, and didn't feel from the get go, that he would get that role, and dint try to steal it either. IT came in wanting to prove he was a starter, and with inconsistent starts from both Bledsoe and Goran, saw his chance to prove it. Morrii, wanting to prove they are starters, but think that scoring is what makes you a star, and the other aspects can take a little bit of a backseat(not huge, but enough to effect both ends of the floor in a bad way.) Green and Plumlee just not living up to what they did with basically the same group. Archie, Len, and Warren wanting to prove their worth. There was a lot more "me" ball to go around.
But things are starting, slowly, to build from ISO.goodwin is so much more in control than he was this summer, the DLeague was used really well, and it seems to be paying off. I'd still like a little more Bullock than either Green or Thornton, but the staff could feel they might want to keep one, so have them try out some minutes. I an understand that.
