I wouldn't trade Booker for anyone in this draft. Because we need Booker AND another star from this draft.

I'd move Jackson for Doncic/Ayton, easily. As much as I love Jackson

Popovic said it best... Ginobili would have been as good as most of the great SGs like Kobe, Jordan, Wade... Etc.

Had he bigger hands or more athleticism...

So for the Doncic fanboys here attacking people simply mentioning Doncic's weakness is in denial and simply wants to hear all good bits.

When it's perfectly OK to say Ayton Will need to improve defense and even attack big men in general... Yet mentioning Doncics known weakness is frowned upon.

For the people who's completely sold on Doncic and want him only...Don't have a heart break if he's not the pick.

I'm Ok with either... It I know Sarver will draft Ayton and Booker would want Ayton too... And he's due to sign an extension... I think he's got a lot of pull.

I like Doncic but I think With the way the Suns are built and the needs of the team... And Sarver's preference... Ayton is the one.

I agree the Doncic athleticism is not elite. It is something that can be improved too. It has been reported that he has not been able to hit the weights very much in the past 18 months. Given a good strength and conditioning coach I image Doncic can improve quite a bit on his frame, quickness, and jumping.

I've heard Doncic compared to many greats in terms of BBIQ, vision, passing, ball handling, heart, motor, and desire including Ginobili, Magic, Nash, and Lebron. I would still take a less athletic Steve Nash over most athletic point guards in the league today. He changed the game for both Marion and Amare and all the other Suns players hit with the Nash effect.

I really think a lot of Ayton fans are going to be surprised when he doesn't go number one. Again put Doncic in the NCCA and he averages 22/10/10 as an 18 year old.

I have a hard time seeing this. I don't believe anyone has ever averaged a triple double in NCAA history

Same here. I respect the hell out of his accomplishments but don’t think he’s a superstar. I think he’s a slower Joe Johnson with the charisma to be more popular/likable.

29% from deep in the ACB. Yikes but how many of those were halfcourt heaves like some argue?

Taking out his 1 for 11 heaves he shot closer to 35% from 3 point range.

https://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2018/3/31/17180204/why-luka-doncic-should-be-at-the-top-of-the-phoenix-suns-draft-board-nba-news-column
Doncic’s three-point percentage this season of 30.6% is not really the case because almost 20% of those attempts have been on end of quarter heaves after tracking through full games I was able to capture. It’s more realistic to believe that he is a 35% shooter from beyond the arc, which definitely ups the possibilities of how an above-average sniper like Booker could play off of him with ease in the backcourt.

The shooting stroke Doncic has is also very translatable to the NBA. There are no significant issues with mechanics compared to Simmons, Fultz or Ball outside of landing his feet aiming towards the left. That’s a quick fix in the first month of acclimating himself to his franchise.

True but no one has had a triple-double in Euroleague for over 11 years ... until Doncic just did it.

I mean he had one and triple-doubles aren't unprecedented. Averaging a triple double in the NCAA would be. I think you're going a bit over the top here. Even Jason Kidd couldn't average more than 17/7/9 playing more than 35mpg in his soph season

True the assists would be the biggest problem since many college shooters can't shoot very well.

Doncic has less athleticism than Ginobli and it will be harder for him to flop at 230 lbs. Easy to imagine him falling to the Mavs.

Work in progress:

ATTL

Gosh it disturbs me to see you, Ayton
Looking so down in the dumps
Ev'ry guy here'd love to draft you, Ayton
Even when taking your lumps
There's no man on realgm as admired as you
You're ev'ryone's favorite guy
Ev'ryone's awed and inspired by you
And it's not very hard to see why

No one's slick as Ayton
No one's quick as Ayton
No one's neck's as incredibly thick as Ayton's
For there's no man in the draft half as manly
Perfect, a pure paragon!
We don't want Mo, Luca or Bagley
And we'll tell you whose team we prefer you be on

RealGM

No one jumps like Ayton
Gets pumped up like Ayton

ATTL

On defenders, nobody dunks like Ayton

Ayton

As a specimen, yes, I'm intimidating!

RealGM

No one dunks like Ayton

ATTL

No one's as much of a hunk as Ayton!

Ayton-stans

For there's no one as burly and brawny

Ayton

As you see I've got biceps to spare

ATTL

Not a bit of him's scraggly or scrawny

Ayton

That's right!
And ev'ry last inch of me's covered with hair

RealGM

No one hits shots like Ayton

In the playoffs no one gets hot like Ayton

Ayton

When I was a lad

Ev'ry morning to help me get large
And now that I'm grown
I eat five dozen eggs
So I'm roughly the size of a barge!

RealGM

Oh, ahhh, wow!
My what a guy, that Ayton!
No one shoots like Ayton
Makes those hoops like Ayton

Ayton

I use trophies in all of my decorating!

Here’s what is going to happen, McD is going to draft Ayton.

Slim chance he trades it for someone like KAT. Minnesota will demand more than just Ayton and we say no.

If we draft Ayton, i really hope we can bring in KG to work with him, or even hire him on as a bigman coach.

JZ: Do you have coaching aspirations, say with a team, or do you like to freelance and go where you want?

KG: I wish it was a freer market than that, but I totally understand. But I like being free. I like being able to work with multiple teams. That’s not the case. The league changed their rules a little bit. But from a mentoring aspect, you can mentor as many players as you want. As far as team, you have to stick with one team. I would never say never to anything, but I don’t have an appetite to coach. I’m more of a teacher than a coach. A coach has a lot more responsibility. I just want to teach the players, and that’s it. I don’t want to organize who gets what playing time. I definitely don’t want that.

JZ: What other players do you work with?

KG: Last year, I had the opportunity to work with the Clippers and Bucks. I got to work with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan along with Giannis and Thon (Maker) and (Khris) Middleton. I also got to work with The Process Embiid in Philadelphia. Karl-Anthony Towns and I have worked together and shared information. I haven’t worked with KAT in a while, two or three years, but we always talk basketball. If I could, my dream would be to work with all the future bigs in the league.

From what I have read, I would not be shocked to see us trade #1 pick for the #2 pick and pick Ayton with it. "Vlade Divac would pay to move up a spot to nab a player from the former Yugoslavia." The question is what would we get in return?

They need a big man coach for sure (and not a Bill Cartwright type). As much as I want Ayton he needs guidance. I hope they keep Tyson around. The one thing I potentially liked about Bud was his history with bigs.

David Robinson was one of the most intelligent players ever. Give him a call.

JJ had one of the worst DRPM in the league and iirc, 2nd worst on the Suns behind only Warren (excluding mid season acquisition Payton).

You honestly think advance stats would represent JJ or any Sun player after a tank season...

And Booker or Ulis better than JJ...lol
