"Ummmm no" is spot on. I get that this situation sucks and that Markieff is doing us NO favors right now. He actually made things worse last night. I mean Markieff, what the hell? You know that you are being shopped and that your value in the league is low. You put together a few nice games. The new coach talks you up... and you f-ing pull this sh*t. OMG. Come on, man.
Cooler heads HAVE to prevail here. Let's please calm down, step back, and give McD a fair chance to get us out of this mess. He didn't draft Markieff. But it is his job to clean it up and put PHX in a position to win long term. That means do NOT give Markieff away. That also means TANK for a top 3 pick.
I do believe that McD has been trying really, really hard to trade Markieff since this summer. But McD is smart and he is patient. He refuses to get ripped off. Patience and trade savvy, BTW, is something we as fans should value more.
We need McD to take a deep breath and get us through this ****. We need McD to get us a good return on the plummeting stock that is Markieff Morris. Be smart. Hold the line. Get us a trade deadline deal like the one we got for Dragic. You CAN DO IT, McD!!! I have faith.
BTW -- I do like Gambo sometimes, but Gambo is NOT, NOT, NOT helping us right now. Every negative comment he makes drives Markieff's value down and hurts the Suns. He should shut up and let McD work through this mess.
Clap......Clap.....Clap...Clap, Clap, Clap (trying to do a 'digital' "Slow Clap", here...)
Yes, cooler heads DO need to prevail. I do get that Kieff is a distraction, baby, whatever you want to call him, and yes, he does cause problems on the team. But at this point, if we don't improve...well, isn't that what we want anyway? And as the article that Sabrestar posted is saying, teams may want to wait until the assault charge is figured out. Some GMs probably don't care either way, but if these are the only GMs willing to deal, and they are not offering a decent pkg, do those that say you'd take any value for Kieff REALLY mean that? If trading Kieff now nets us crap, like we take on a bad contract or worse yet, pkg Len or Warren with Kieff in order to get any value what so ever, so that we are trading away Warren or Len or Goodwin for something of less value than tey are worth, JUS so we can get Kieff off the team? Is that what you really want? Is it really worth it to you to have Kieff off this team for the next 30 games, that we intend to 'tank' anyway?
And regarding McD, it's amazes me how little flack Sarver takes, and how much more McD takes.
So how about this. I'll hire you to design a building. But as you are designing it, I'm looking over your shoulder the whole time, telling you what materials I want you to use..."yes, use that, but no, not that, and you MUST keep that aspect of the design, even if it detracts from the stability of the building...I don't care, I like and you have to keep it...nope you can't use that company...ooh, or that one, and DEFINITELY not that one...you can only use these three to buy your materials. Nope, don't like that design, go back and try again. blah, blah , blah..."
My point is Sarver hired McD to 'build' or 'design' this team, but only if McD does it HIS way. Sarver is an embarrassment; sticks his nose in things he ought not to...does interviews, says things to the media, calls out other teams coaches for not bring his "A-Game" players to a preseason game.
I'm not saying McD can't be held accountable, I'm just saying that he's dealing with an idiot of an owner who can't keep his mouth shut, and that Sarver deserves his fair dose of accountability too, and McD takes too much, IMO.
