After scoring 70 points over three games in his 10-day contract, guard MarShon Brooks has agreed to a two-year deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Brooks will sign for the remainder of the season, including a fully guaranteed salary for 2018-19, league sources said. Multiple playoff-contending teams inquired about Brooks over the past day because of the end of his first 10-day contract on Thursday, sources said, but he and the Grizzlies finalized a deal Thursday night. Memphis had part of its midlevel exception remaining to use toward signing Brooks.
Brooks is averaging 23.3 points and 3.7 assists in 25.2 minutes per game in three games for the Grizzlies.
Brooks, 29, has made his return to the NBA after spending the past four seasons starring in the Chinese Basketball Association and in Europe. The 2011 first-round draft pick signed in the Euroleague in 2014 and then played for Jiangsu in China from 2015-18 – revitalizing his professional career and preparation to become an improved player in the NBA.
Brooks was highly touted after a standout collegiate career at Providence and went No. 25 overall to the Nets in 2011 as part of a draft-night trade.

I mean an injury is kinda random, its not like it was already injured and just playing ball caused it to manifest, like if he was here playing it would have happened the same way.
That would be like, Im glad we didnt trade for Porzingis because got injured too!
What a stupid reason to all of a sudden now be all against that trade

On another note it's a bit disconcerting that Gambo and Bordow have both now mentioned Kidd. Not that I think either of them know anything, but it's still bothersome.

It’s funny to see Rachel Nichols say this because earlier in the season she was questioning if Booker was even all that good. And now all of a sudden she’s treating him like a star player so she can bash the Suns for more clicks.
If she wasn’t hot, I’d hate her. After the whole Roger Goodell & Floyd Mayweather stuff she pulled, she’s basically become the most popular woman figure for ESPN.

No, this is stupid. If you're surprised by Irving's knee injury, then you weren't paying attention to his college or NBA career. I'm stupidfounded by your take here.
I'm guessing you were for this terrible, terrible, silly, awful, terrible idea?bwgood wrote:Yeah, that is stupid.

You, also, were not worried about Kyrie's injury history? It's not like we were talking about trading for Damian Lillard, here!
The Jackson/1st/Bender/++ for Kawhi idea is also terrible, awful, disgusting. Though I have no similar worry about Kawhi's quad as I did about Kyrie's legs, Jackson is well on his way to being of Kawhi's caliber on his own. An All-NBA talent will likely be available where we pick. And valuing Chriss/Bender at nothing or near-nothing is also ridiculous... Glad to see only roughly a third of the Suns fan base has lost their minds.

Never put women ... Pretty women on the pedestal for being pretty. If they annoy you let them know and treat them accordingly. No matter how nice you are to them you ain't scoring...

No way I make that trade. JJ cannot be traded.

I don't know what you are saying. I didn't want to do the Kyrie trade for a number of reasons. For Gambo to be all for the trade whining about us not doing it all season and now saying he's glad we didn't do it is kind of stupid considering Kyrie was injured all through college and has had various issues. That wasn't even my biggest concern with the trade. I never thought he'd re-sign anyway or be happy to be traded to a team not on his list but didn't want to trade our pick for him anyway. If we did we'd get a little better for a couple of years and then get worse and have no Jackson and just get worse again.

I agree with you. My reaction is against the bolded portion, which seems absurd to me. A Kyrie injury should surprise no one, and that's the point.
I agree that the injury itself doesn't change the calculus, in retrospect, because it isn't surprising. And while the injury was not the biggest part of that calculus (for me, it had more to do with the consideration we would have had to tender than the consideration received), it certainly was a big factor in that calculus. Knowing that the injury concern was not overblown, in hindsight, should be some confirmation that the decision not to do the trade was sensible at the time. But of course even more relevant to the retrospective analysis is how well JJ has played.
I was thinking more along the lines of - look at JJ now, and look at Kyrie now. How foolish would we feel today, given how things have turned out, had we made that move?
That #4/Bledsoe for Kyrie rumor shook me. I hated it. I hate reading stories about how we might have done it. It would have turned me against McDonough.
