On the other hand, Suns proved they are better than Spurs
Lets look at game 1 facts:
Shaq was out for 28 mins of the game.
Amare was out for 12 mins of the game.
Nash was slowed by the flue.
Hill played only 28 mins, slowed by groin.
Giricek played only 12 mins while LB played 41 mins.
Skinner only saw 2 mins.
Spurs were playing at HOME.
With all the above pluses in Spur's favor, they could not close the deal and took them two OT's and two last minute desperate shots to win by 2.

I dont think there's any question the suns are more talented. It took massive foul trouble, two OT's, two miracle 3's, and homecourt advantage for the spurs to win.
Unfortunately, talent alone wont get it done. Cant be dumb and make mistakes closing out against a team like the spurs, they will make you pay everytime.

I'll come over to the Stern Forum and play that same violin when Spurs are sent packing.

Most worrisome is that Parker took 20 shots, Duncan and Manu took 24 and the Suns couldn't see their way into some kind of significant effort to take the ball out of the hands of San Antonio's stars.
Finley is the only guy to take more than 5 shots besides those 3 and the Suns simply did nothing to change their plan of attack with defensive pressure.
DJ didn't play a minute; he should have had 20 minutes during that game at LEAST so he could harass Parker from baseline to baseline and then meet up with trapping defenses playing off Oberto when Parker crossed the timeline or even just before. Raja played 54 minutes or so...
DJ's 6'5, he can play the 2. Yeah

Haha, holy lord that's funny. And true.

Fantastic point tsherkin. The funny thing about rookies is that everyone rips on them for not having playoff experience. Fair enough, they don't. But they will never gain experience if they never play. I think that 15-20 minutes for someone who can lock down Parker is more than fair. If we could just keep them from scoring when Nash, Amare and Shaq are out, we would be fine.
The problem has always been that, when Nashty and the crew are out, the other teams break off little runs to get back in the game.
I wish we could see some of this on Tuesday.
Strawberry on Parker
Bell on Ginobili
Hill on Bowen
Diaw on Duncan
Skinner on Oberto
I think those are our best defensive matchups. Shaq does fantastic on Duncan, but the refs are letting Duncan drop his shoulder and drive right into Shaq's center of gravity... and I want Shaq to stay out of foul trouble.

To point something out for all of you who will undoubtedly say something about this...
No, I don't mean to have all of those guys on the court at the same time, i'm strictly talking about our best possible match-ups.

Already making excuses? JESUS CHRIST SOME OF YOU SUNS FANS ARE PATHETIC! Basketball is a game of matchups, which include strategical developments, don't be stupid and already come up with excuses. I am a Spurs fan but I like the Suns as well, but I hate when idiotic fans post threads right after a loss with a bunch of excuses.

The only way to prove that you are better than the Spurs is to actually beat them. You don't want to sound like Mavricks fans now do you? They still think they were better than the Heat in 06.

How about we agree that, as long as you are posting on the Suns forum, you only add things to the conversation. That sounds nice.
Oh, but I did like the ALL CAPITAL LETTERS THOUGH, IT REALLY EMPHASIZED YOUR POINT!
