That’s not looking promising if we’re going to be competitive…

What evidence do we have that Chicago
A.) Wants to trade DDR
B.) Simons is worth DDR
C.) DDR will make us competitive enough for Dame to stay so we don’t trade Simons for nothing

To C), even if Dame asks out, DDR would be a great tank commander: consummate professional, won't take it personally if he's shopped at the deadline. I think it's worth doing. But yeah, you don't make that deal if Dame is already gone, most likely. And zero idea if Chicago would be interested.

If that’s the case I think DDR would have nearly zero trade value as a $37 million dollar expiring who you’ll have for only a few months with no guarantee he’ll stay with your team.
Frankly unless there’s a big step 2 to go along with DDR I’d rather move on from Dame and keep Simons

No ****.
If we don’t bring in the type of talent he wants then between now and around FA it seems we should expect a trade request
Yep, clocks ticking and times not on his side. I would say maybe 2 weeks Dame is giving the team.
Really starting to wonder if Cronin even wants to keep Dame or if hed rather push him out so they can full restart.

I am thinking this is not a Cronin decision, but a Jody/Bert one

Thank you! Most of us (not all because of his size) are super excited for him. There is a bit of an odd feeling with how this will mean with Dame and everything, so some of it is also very bitter sweet and on the edge waiting.
But I think most of us love the idea of Scoot and Shaedon, even if though many of us want to keep Dame too. Tricky times here.

I think that's understandable. Honestly, I wouldn't worry. Portland didn't win with Dame so if they are bad I'd trust them to make the right decision again in the draft and you can just enjoy Lillard. It's obviously not ideal from an asset management perspective, but it is a super interesting team and I think one of the better 'two-track' teams out there because the priority is on the rebuild. If he asks out there will be a package of assets from someone, it will likely be a bit underwhelming, but it will be enough to add young talent and grease the wheels of future trades.
Also, as a fan of a team who recently turned over their core - emotionally it is strange for a while, but it gets exciting as soon as the basketball starts. So, if it does happen, I promise you all will have fun, and you will get to enjoy Dame being somewhere he can shine through the end of his prime.
