Let’s hope Jerami puts on a show so LA wants to trade for him

Lebron being out doesn’t help the tank, nor does LAL recent poor play for that matter

So is Ayton’s spirit good tonight?

POR defense is so lackadaisical

Nice 3 by Avdija there

2Q
Bad pass by Sharpe there, but Avdija breaks up the fast break on the other end

Nice take and 1 by Avdija there

Mean DB take of the night, is he ever not raising his hands and calling for the ball? I think he’s literally the only guy on the team that constantly does that. lol

The transition defense by this team is awful, back to back easy scores off of transition for LAL. This has gone on all year long, and Billups has done nothing to address it? If guys aren’t getting back on defense bench their ass, there is just no accountability on this team right now.

Great advice, Chauncey, you get players to play at their peak by just telling them to be themselves, yikes

Rui, hitting 3’s, not advocating for POR to try and acquire him per se, but I do think he represents the kind of player this team could really use out on the perimeter

14-0 LAL run, pretty easy to happen when you’re shooting up bricks and playing lousy transition defense

Weird exchange between Rui and Camara there

Camara just muscled Knecht there for an easy score

Good to see Sharpe taking advantage of more mid range jumpers

I hope Cronin is watching this game, and reassessing his (2) 1st’s for Grant nonsense. 0-8 for Grant so far

Good defense by Camara to break up that lob into Davis

Horrible 1v1 take by Simons there to end the half

When Ayton is actually engaged and playing IN the post, he can be a good center. Problem is, he is rarely engaged, and doesn’t like to play down low in the post.

Camaro with a 3 and fouled!

lol, Michael Holton “these last few plays have community center written all over them”, couldn’t sum up POR season so far any better than that

Simons has some good qualities, being a 1v1 go to scorer is definitely not one of them

Ugh, Grant, obviously he is better than this, but if you were a GM asking about Grant and hearing (2) 1st’s needed to acquire him you would laugh your ass off.

Sharpe needs to cut down on the frequency of 3’s he takes until he gets his shot back, focus on mid range and driving downhill to the basket

Big man, 101 never bring the ball down on a rebound, you would think Ayton would know that by now?

I don’t think it’s POR play that has gotten them back into this game, but LAL awful shooting

Ayton with the board and finish If he played like that all the time, he would be a very good center, alas he is just a total enigma as a person and a player & not someone you can count on at all

Just awful defense by Simons there against Dlo. Seriously, at least put up some resistance

Aggressive, drive by Scoot there, gets rewarded with the foul

Holton with some more insight “ if they (POR) could just have some more spacing and shooting, Scoot’s drives could pay dividends”

An obvious comment, but bewildering Cronin doesn’t seem to notice (or care)?

Avdija checks in & hits a 3, you might think they wanna play him more\give him more minutes?

Lol Holton, with another insightful comment about POR players trying to drive into a set defense and what they need to do to manufacture advantages against it.

How does the actual coach of POR not seem to know that?

Man, Deni is such a bull out on the break, able to absorb contact, finish and get the & 1

More bad transition by POR

Good drive by Scoot there, taking contact and then finishing

Scoot with the 3/4 court 3!!!

Another good drive by Scoot there to open the 4Q. Drives into the paint and gets fouled

Sharpe is just way off shooting from long distance, he needs to stop taking those shots and focus on driving to the hoop instead

More FT for Scoot

What the heck were Walker/Banton doing there? Just awful defense, Koloko for easy jam.

Not to seem to be “picking” on them, b\c it is a team wide problem, so yes some of the blame (awareness) is on them, but as much or more blame is on the coaching staff.

Grant finally hits a 3, prior to that he was 0–10, 0-6 3pt

lol, ok Dlo

If Cronin was holding onto Grant/Simons to decrease their value, then he is doing a fantastic job

Avdija puts an end to the bloodletting, by drawing a foul

I wonder how many drives Avdija is fouled, but they don’t call it? I mean, if that was LeBron, he would be shooting free throws right now.

Tough mid range by basket by Sharpe there, but I would much rather see him take those kind of shots than hoisting 3pt shots right now.

Ugly TO by Simons there, picked by AD. Then AD gets an easy slam on the other end, as Ayton watches. Stellar defense. Then Ayton fouls out.

Yes, Calabro much better “spirit“ tonight POR is losing by “only” 20

Yep, Sharpe needs to stop shooting 3’s. He is taking way too many of them at a horrible conversion rate.

Perfect example there m, he misses a 3 badly then on the next possession drives to the basket and gets fouled

And now they must suffer the indignity of a Bronny James sighting

Yeah, Grant 1-12, 1-7 from 3pt, 3pts

That is your $30mil man there, The only hope, and it is such a longshot hope, is that Cronin watches a game like this (and others) and realizes that he is not worth what he is allegedly asking for him, let alone the grossly inflated salary that he is guaranteed to receive for the next FIVE years but of course even most fans knew that already

Yeah, it’s only one game but let’s hope this puts the Grant for Rui +assets drunk talk to bed. Rui likely has more value than Grant. Age and contract MATTER.
