As a Mavs fan, I don't believe the Mavs is going to take on Udrih for expiring money. Knowing Mark Cuban, he's looking to get a pick for something of value for the swap. Otherwise, the trade should have been done already.
Dallas does not intend to part with Wright or Barea as well. I think the throw-in is more likely Shawne Williams or James Singleton. A backup 5 or starting 2 should be heading to Dallas after the trade as well.
I think Mark's looking for something along the line:
1. Stackhouse + 2M = Udrih + top-5 protected pick
2. Stackhouse + Barea +2M = Udrih + Francisco Garcia
3. Stackhouse + Barea + Shawne Williams + 2M = Udrih + Shelden Williams + top-5 protected pick
I think you guys would hang up for the asking price.
I'm not disputing you here, but did you ever stop and think maybe Petrie isn't quite ready to part with a 26 y/o starting PG on a reasonably priced contract? It takes two to tango and even though we as fans would think something or the other, management often times has a more intimate knowledge of what's actually happening. And you're nuts if you think any deal focused around JERRY STACKHOUSE and BENO UDRIH as the focal point of the deal mentions a lotto pick OR Francisco Garcia. That's just CRAZY talk.
