Re: Kings interested in Jake Voskuhl
I see a LOT of people worried about Spencer and Jason's minutes. I have to say that I can't see having a solid b/u big affecting that at all. They cannot (nor will they be able to because of fouls alone) play 48 mpg each. I wouldn't WANT that because of the injury risk. As it stands, we don't have a big enough guy behind them to eat the minutes while they rest and beat on the other team's bigs for a while.

It's also just a lot easier to play small (since they do it anyway of course) and save the money in the event something like that happens.
Same thing was said about Ike Diogu and Calvin Booth last year that left everyone with the same question, "why did it take so long for Ike to play?" The only possible thing stopping it from happening this time is the fact that we have a different coach.
That's fine until we're in a situation where we'll get abused if we go small--and there are plenty of those. I'm sure we'll see examples pretty quickly going into the season.

And Hawes can get the experience w/o being the only man on the field for the job.
Do you think that a guy like Voskuhl is gonna do anything against the Dwights, Duncans, Shaqs, Lopez's, etc?
Voskuhl no, better guy will do a better job than Hawes, and I'm talking less about Howard, more about Lopez, Bynum and Hibbert.

Oh I see, my point was, if our opposing bigs forced our bigs into foul trouble and into bad games, I really don't see a guy like Voskuhl making any difference whatsoever regarding if we win or lose.

Yeah, what I'm saying is
1. We really need a big man.
2. we need a big man better than Voskuhl, who is kinda redundant.

I agree, this would be a pretty pointless signing.
