i seriously cant stand it when ppl post lineups and they have beno as the 2 and evans at the 1 it boggles my mind why ppl care if evans is defined as a **** pg. Yes he can play the pg and play it well because of his great handles and court vision but so can many other players. Hes a playmaker that has the ability to run the point but isnt necessarily a pg like lebron, roy, hill(in his prime), carter, ginobli, wade etc. Sorry about the rant but i cant stand ppl labeling him as our pg for the future in their lineups.
How do you know he is not a play maker like the guys you listed? The dude is 20 years old and will be going into his second year. I think he has the potential to be like those guys. I also think the Kings are a better team when playing Tyreke at the 1 and Beno at the 2.

According to 82games.com here are some stats for Beno based on where he was playing.

Player 48-Minute Production by Position
Position
PG 19/7/3 and a PER of 17.2
SG 23/5/5 and a PER of 21.7

Opponent Counterpart 48-Minute Production
Position
PG 20/8/5 and PER of 17.9
SG 17/2/5 and PER of 11.2

So just looking at those numbers Beno plays much better at the SG position especially defensively.

Now lets look at Tyreke's numbers.

Player 48-Minute Production by Position
Position
PG 26/8/6 and a PER of 22.2
SG 26/6/6 and a PER of 19.1
SF 20/7/10 and PER of 16.2

Opponent Counterpart 48-Minute Production
Position
PG 20/8/5 and PER of 17.7
SG 17/4/5 and PER of 16.1
SF 19/4/8 and PER of 14.9

So Evans production is much better at the PG position.

Although, I do not think we don't have legitimate stabilization in the SF position but your argument of positional draft rankings defining a player is absolutely wrong.

You are telling to me that players that was chosen in later portions of the draft can't re-define their own personal worth? There were countless of players that were chosen 20 and beyond that are legitimate starters in this L.

I don't care if you are chosen #1 or #30, if you can make a case whether or not you can play in this league at a high level, I could care less of positional draft rankings.

What? Where in my statement did I even remotely refer to such a thing??? We are talking PROSPECTS that haven't "re-defined their own personal worth". Value is value and whatever the player does with their career has nothing to do with this argument. They were picked where they were for a reason and Johnson is placed where he is for a reason. There is no disputing that because the numbers are the numbers and the draft analysis is what it is as well.

Eh, tipping point was probably before we traded for Landry which essentially cost Donte all of his minutes at the PF spot. We can survive with Donte, Casspi, and Johnson, they can all play SG for a chunk of minutes.

Wtf are you talking about? I said he IS a play maker. Why the **** would you ask me that i think hes not going to be a play maker like the ones i just listed, I clearly said that's what he is. As for all your 82games.com stats and whatever you listed, I'm sorry call me old fashioned but I actually watch basketball and not worry about that advanced crap. Just think about and look what you posted from that site, 48-minute production by position? Thats basically saying those are his evans stats while hes listing as playing as pg and the stats he are putting up while playing sg. Sorry to tell you on any given night no matter where evans and beno are listed whos the pg and whos the sg they are doing the exact same thing. That advanced crap seems so flawed but whatever I could care less. Evans is our playmaking 2 and im happy about that, sorry he is not a pg.

Sure, as long as we don't play Cisco at all--forget about trying to keep Noc's value anywhere near movable.

But really, if you look at it, Donte wasn't playing minutes at PF before the Landry trade--not much at all. He was starting games listed at SG. This is probably because he still rebounds like a SG--which is the problem with playing him at PF. It's not really worth creating a mismatch (which would exist at both ends anyway).

Who???

No seriously though, Noc has to be gone by the start of the season. He's just an after thought at this point and the waters are muddy enough already with the stink that was made last year. He's got to go one way or another.

Donte played quite a few games at PF off the bench and he actually looked pretty decent too. Even Jerry Reynolds mentioned multiple times how much of a mismatch problem he created. That one game in particular where he pretty much spun Amare Stoudemire into a hole was pretty entertaining. He played games at SG because we just didn't have the consistent play we needed and Kevin being injured as well as Cisco made it pretty much the only option at times.

Well I guess someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. All I was doing was pointing out the Evans plays the PG really well. Now if you can find someone that can play PG extremely well then I am fine with him playing the "2 Spot." However, with the way the team is currently constructed Beno does a much job playing the "2 Spot," and I am perfectly fine with that. I do agree to a point that when they are playing together they are doing somewhat of the same stuff. However, I would say that Tyreke handles the ball a lot more allowing the Kings to use some of the better traits Beno has as a basketball player.

At this point I would not label Tyreke as having a position. He is a basketball player who can play and guard the 1-3.

I agree with you on Noc, I just think it may be easier said than done.

I'm not denying that he creates mismatch problems at PF. But his lack of strength defending PFs could become an issue, and especially again, his poor rebounding. That's not something that can just be ignored.

My main point was that the team clearly mostly considered him a wing this year, and I think the lack of rebounding is probably a big reason why.
