Could you have gotten more for Fox? I'm banging my head asking the same question about Lavine. If we're comparing Lavine and Fox here, I think you are getting the more dynamic player who will only thrive better with your role players than he did this year with the Bulls. That is of course if he stays healthy.
The only real downfall could be the same issue when Lonzo Ball went down a couple of years ago. Will you guys have a guard who can be the glue that keeps all of the offensive weapons playing in harmony? Who is that guy going to be? It doesn't seem like Fox was a great facilitator in that regard.
I agree about Lavine as a dynamic player, however IMO DDR needs to go. It just doesn't make sense for this team. And I will say, we bought Lavine at his high, definitely not a buy low scenario.
I'm not sure we really bought high on him.
Look at it as a 2 team deal. We then routed Collins, Huerter, Jones, and 1 of the protected picks for LaVine. That's two bad contracts + a pick that's unlikely to convey for LaVine.
Did the Bulls get a positive package? I'd have that as clearly negative.
I agree Bulls picked the right direction that made sense for them, but we got LaVine at a negative valuation.
Fox was worth Tre/Collins/Cap space + 3 1st + 5 2nds.
