there's a couple of players considering us VERY strongly,,,dj hogg and jaylen brown.
apparently, with brown it's us or ky and his family doesn't like ky. i do not know if it's calipari or the system or the school...brown is a very smart kid. i think the whole georgia/adams/tony parker thing helps and adams has tweeted that UCLA was the best decision he ever made. i know too that brown likes the city life.
as for hogg, he's apparently feels sympatico that UCLA has put players of his ilk in the league, ie not great athletically.
what do you think of these two
thx

he has a very unique approach. well, it shouldn't be unique, but it is for PGs his age. i mentioned the hit ahead passes in my previous post about him and that shouldn't be overlooked. most PGs his age want to take the ball up themselves and weave through traffic. if lonzo sees an opportunity to get the ball up the court ASAP via the hit ahead pass, he whips it with no second guessing. it's a good sign that he knows what he's doing and has a QBs vision.
my thoughts on brown the player are all over this thread. i think he's a fantastic prospect with just about every physical tool you could want for a wing. he's driven, has improved rapidly and he wants to be in the best possible position to continue to improve.
sounds like you know more about brown's recruiting than i do. all that i gather from what i've read about him is that he's a pretty no nonsense type cat. you don't see his name mentioned in any rumored package deals. i don't think he's a fan of this whole recruitment process. he thinks that coaches calling him every day is unnecessary and a little strange, maybe even slightly annoying. i think it's possible for a program to OVER-recruit him. i foresee him making his decision sometime soon because he doesn't want the process to extend any longer than it has to. the rumor is that UCLA has the momentum and that would bode for them if he indeed makes his decision soon. i saw him as a UK lean, but i had not heard the rumors of his family not being fond of kentucky. could be an SEC thing since that is his home state and i know they were georgia leans at one point. could be that his family is no nonsense which is where jaylen gets that from and sees through cal's phoniness. could be a potential logjam at the wings with, i'm assuming, d.booker coming back and UK having charles matthews locked up.
as for hogg, he's one of the best pure shooters in the class and he looks more like a core, 3-4 yr guy as opposed to an early entrant. he's not the quickest guy and doesn't have great ball skills, but he can shoot the crap out of the ball, can get his shot off in a number of ways, has a quick release and he does have good length. kinda reminds me of brannen greene from last yr's KU class.
