This kid has the mental makeup of a guy wants to kill their opponents every time
There are players who play in flow and look invisible. RJ wants to stand and be great
Went undefeated last year of high school
Beat America in u-19 and won gold for Canada
The only bad thing about RJ is his effiency
He rebounds fantastic for 2 guard, plays defense and can pass. He just needs to pick his spots and better shot selection
Wiggins doesn’t give a damn about basketball
If you wanna compare him generationally and say hes not anything special ok, but idk what people are watching acting like he stinks now. What exactly is an empty stat for a SG. Such an overused phrase now. Kids gotta improve like everyone else except in his case he's gotta improve from the most dominant 2 guard in college basketball. I'd be happy taking my chances.
people just automatically assume that inefficiency = 'empty stats' but that's not necessarily always the case. he's definitely not as efficient as one would like but I wouldn't classify his numbers as empty by any stretch.
he's actually a better playmaker than given credit for in the half-court. problem is in transition he tends to have tunnel vision and I've seen him waste a bunch of 2v1 ops because he wants to finish the play instead of playing the 2-1 game and getting a better look.
the bigger problem is that he doesn't seem to be a great fit next to other great players (at this point, that could change). so sometimes it feels like his production comes at the expense of the entire team.
but he's definitely gotten underrated IMO. people who don't think he's a legitimate #2 overall pick are not being really fair to him. i'd say he's a better 2nd overall pick than Parker, Ingram and Ball were.
