Maybe a stupid question, but are these "in socks" measurements going to be their official height? Or will their official height actually be barefoot...or in shoes?

Apparently, the amount of height added by the shoes varies quite a bit from player to player. Some players the shoes add 1 inch, but for some (like Prkacin) the shoes add 1.75 inches..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

always assume +1.5 inches with shoes which are the officials

Oh, interesting..

This article says NBA officially listed heights are without shoes, a rule which was changed in 2019:

https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/nets/ny-nba-player-true-heights-without-shoes-20191018-ctfvnt2rrjgipkhkoq2dbdfwya-story.html

Did the rule change more recently than 2019?

I could be wrong but it was because Buddy Hield was both older and shorter than the league thought he was. He didn’t lie to them either it was due to a misunderstanding and bad record keeping.

How so?

He was previously listed as 6'10", 210 lbs.

Now he's listed at 6'9" and only 203 lbs..

How does that help him that he's smaller?

His wingspan at the combine is 7'3", but that is already the same wingspan that was being reported for him previously..

he's a legit 6-9 with big hands and the 3rd longest W/S and 5th long S/R out of anyone measured, and has been killing the shooting drills so far.

Especially after today's measurements, I'm confused as to why people have Kai Jones way above JT Thor on their big boards. They seem pretty interchangeable to me, and if anything I'd give the tiebreak to Thor as he's a little bit younger.

many of these heights are aided by 1-3 inches of hair. Barely any of these guys are their listed heights. They are extremely generous when measuring them.

It is serious. He has a heart condition that has been known for years.

Davion is tiny, not even 6 foot barefoot without hair. He has thick braided dreads that don't compress. I'm guessing he is 5'11" barefeet with a crew cut on the most generous day.

Same standing reach at AD. Future small ball center.

Liken him to Baby Giannis. GS would be foolish no to take the guy imo.

Would it be crazy for Orlando to pick Barnes over Kuminga?

No workouts and interviews will be telling. I can see a top 4 team liking one of Barnes or Kuminga and wanting to trade down to 5 to draft them and acquire assets

don't see him dropping out of the top10 tbh

He's a match made in heaven for golden state. I just don't think he'll be available anymore.

personally I'd go Moody at 7 and Johnson or Butler at 14, but Barnes makes some sense too, in which case I'd take Springer or Keon at 14.

So uh.. Do they count hair in height because if Cooper is 6'4 he's skyrocketing up my board

Moody is a solid pick for you guys. Fills a need and allows Klay to rehad at his pace, while allowing GSW to stay competitive. I guess I envision Barnes as new era Draymond. Barnes would get so many easy assists in transition with Curry/Klay. So your saying if they go with Moody at 7 you'd want Jalen Johnson or Butler at 14, and if they go Barnes, you'd want Springer or Keon at 14?
