Not even close to the post up skills. Brand was elite in the paint. Him, Duncan, and Jah Okafor were three of the best post up guys since 1995. Sorber is good in the post and credible but he's not elite or anywhere close.
I just took a look at him vs Kalkbrenner. He couldn't move him. Tried to make post moves and then had to resort to flingy arms and wrist and hope it goes in.
Lets ask this question though - how much worse is sorbers defense and rebounding then the donovan clingan, mark williams, duren, etc ? His offense is better, and his footspeed on the perimeter is better. Do you take Sorber ahead of those guys ?
His offense isn't better than those guys and I would definitely take those guys as prospects personally over Sorber.
Not a fan of guys who are 5s who struggle at PnR finishing, tend to be below the rim finishers, and lack ideal height
I always feel those guys top out at top 15 centers and while that has value, it's not that much value.
His defense is better for the NBA than those guys. Guys who can switch, protect the paint, and have bulk where they can post defend is really hard to find.
