Dusan Alimpijevic joins Spurs coaching staff for NBA Summer League

Frutti Extra Bursaspor head coach Dusan Alimpijevic led his team to this year’s 7DAYS EuroCup Final and through a successful journey in 2021-22, he attracted the interest of the San Antonio Spurs.

According to Eurohoops sources, the Serbian coach will join the Spurs‘ coaching staff in the upcoming NBA Summer League, from July 7 to 17 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 36-year-old coach, who started his professional head coaching career in 2013 with Vojvodina Srbijagas, has previously coached Crvena Zvezda in EuroLeague, as well as FMP in Serbia and Avtodor in the VTB United League.

As such, Sochan is expected to miss the entirety of the Spurs' week-long training camp in preparation for next week's Las Vegas Summer League. Practices are set to begin Wednesday morning.

The Spurs have not ruled Sochan out for Summer League itself. However, absent ramp up and practice time, it is fair to say Sochan's availability in Las Vegas remains uncertain.
