You also are making assumptions about his guilt or innocence. As a member of law enforcement this is a horrible attitude for you to have. This mornings Seattle Times report indicates Chris Wilcox was the passenger in the car. The gun probably was not his.

Unfortuately law enforcement personnel always assume a crime has been committed and damage innocent people with an arrest record. I hope he sues the pants off that police officer. Perception is reality. The perception of law enforcement in this country is pretty low and declining all the time. It could have been handled with a warning not an arrest and from the little we know I still see no probable cause for asking them to exit the vehicle or a search. We will learn more in the days ahead.

If there was a gun in the vehicle on the date in question, do you know where the gun was located in the car relative to Wilcox? Constructive possession...look it up...

They have to. If they have a guy who is not licensed to carry a firearm, and has a firearm in his possession, the officer has no business making the determination that no crime occurred and letting the person go. Abso[i]lute[i]ly not his job...

I hope he sues the pants off that police officer.

So you're rooting for Chris Wilcox, the millionaire, to institute and action which would likely ruin the career of a blue collar civil servant? And you're doing so without even knowing any details about the incident? Yeah, I'm sure that lawsuit would do wonders for his career and marketability...

He'd been charged with the same crime before. Not exactly warning material...

Fun times for the officer, too, if he decides to give a warning and that gun is used later that night for a less than ideal purpose.

That's because there's no additional info currently available to the public as far as I can tell.

I can't believe some of you guys think this is a big deal. It's absolutely nothing. I also see that you guys aren't aware that Wilcox did have a concealed weapons permit during the first time he was arrested but it was for North Carolina. I guess the permits aren't valid in other states.

Free Chris Wilcox! These charges are trumped up! To wit:

1. He's not a great shot.

2. He's incapable of stealing.

3. He's allergic to the (cell) block.

4. He doesn't need illegal defense.

5. He won't take the charge(s).

6. He never played for the Bullets
