He doesn’t need to beat his man off the dribble…he can just muscle his way into the paint. But that’s not ideal with Poeltl’s big ass in the paint all the time.
Spots minutes with washed Olynyk doesn’t indicate anything. Poeltl takes up spacing in paint on offense and trash rim protector on defense. So not only does Barnes have to provide the spacing by staying out on the perimeter he also has a lot more pressure when defending the best player on the other team.
Unfortunately Scottie has never shown he is a guy who can muscle his way into anything.
