Today's NBA is geared towards the youth of America...and us. Typically, young sports fans are in to hip hop music. Other than that, style of music just fits perfectly with the game. I don't really understand those that want it to be quiet, if anything we need more people in the crowd making noise all the time.
The music during the game helps the overall entertainment experience. I've been to a hockey game and it's so quiet during actual game play that I just found myself getting bored.
