He looked pretty effective in the playoffs last year to me.

They both were. Check the playoff stats for Jose and Ford. They were the only Raps that were consistently excellent. IMO, Forderon isn't breaking up for at least another year. The current success on the Raps pretty much depends on them playing well.

Consider, even with Calderon's fantastic play as the undisputed starter with Ford injured, the Raptors have been unable to get higher than 5 games over .500. The pointguards and Bosh are our only clear advantage. Right now, we surround them with high quality shooters and hope for the best. We aren't in championship mode yet, so no need to tamper with what's working yet. We really need to see how the combo works after all-star and the playoffs.

Really, have the good grace to know when you are whipped. TJ certainly had the chance the past two years to play the majority of minutes, and while he did well, he didn't have the same productivity and efficiency.

Just run up the white flag and stop being a bitter old grouch.

The "majority" of the minutes is like 55/45 when both players are healthy. With TJ out Calderon is playing like 70% of the PG minutes. Jose has gone from playing 18-24 mins to 35 to 40 mins, It's a big freakin difference. I remember all last year longing for TJ to play Chris Paul type minutes only to see Jose benefit from getting the same minutes TJ should have been getting all along while still not putting up the type of numbers TJ can put up in less minutes. It's a **** disgrace how everyone is rallying behind Jose when TJ got jobbed out of the starting role and robbed in game 6.

Oh boo hoo, did you ever hear of a guy who starts playing a lot more minutes, and against the opponents' starters, and dramatically raises his percentages to top tier levels? That's Jose.

I have no more time for the likes of you. Time to go eat.

I heard of a guy who plays 40 mins and has essentially the same numbers as before while playing NO DEFENSE. That's Jose.

LOL.. TJ got jobbed out? The guy can barely stay injury-free these days.. and you think that was jobbing him out? Wow! If you recall, the first time he had a stinger this season during the Dallas game and he came back in like 4-5 games, and when he suffered the injury again in Atlanta, he himself said that he rushed his return after the Dallas injury and should have waited longer.. So, playing him off the bench in game 6 cuz he had a stinger is jobbing him? LOL.. TJ apologists with do anything to twist the facts..

The fact remains, Jose is starting cuz TJ got injured and Jose took the opportunity to showcase his talent. The same thing happend with Brady as well. Had he not gotten the opportunity due to an ijury to the starting QB, the world probably would have not witnessed how great Brady has been..

Add to that a key to the city of Toronto and Chuck Swirsky's lunch Box and I am sure he'll sign

The thing is that, at least for me, Jose is the better player by default right now. That's not a knock on him, he's playing absolutely insane, but TJ has the "what if" factor when it comes to a talent comparison because of his health.

That being said, at this point I'd rather have a guy bringing it on the court than be talking about him bringing it when he's wearing a suit. Jose is reaching excellent status while TJ is still a question mark. TJ did play well early in the season, that can't be disputed I feel, but as we move forward, that's the only frame of reference we have. And it's getting to the point of "what have you done for me lately" for me.

"And around the Mulberry bush we go!"

"hasn't this been done to death?"

Shaazzam wrote:Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, there is a long standing history of violence on both sides of the Mason-Dixon line in this one. Almost every thread for the last 2 years that has mentioned either TJ or Jose or had the word point guard in it has turned into a flamefest. If people will play nice, than fine, but I don't see how every thread needs to have the same discussion in it. Especially when an OP clearly states at the beginning to not make it such.
