This kid isn't capable of grasping complex facts. Its ok one day you'll figure it out. Secretly hoping for Scottie to fail so you can say the tank failed, team mediocre at its finest.

I love it Johnny, I love it! Los is always bringing it, but you're bring it as well! You're statpadding like FVV!

Fred a top 10 point guard? Strange. I thought based on some of the members in this thread, he was a glorified bum. A stat padding shooting guard forced to play the role of a point guard. Did I miss anything? I think those are all the narratives.

I demand to know this as well. Who said that?

Really? It's a fake narrative perpetuated by you know who. He kept going into game threads and post game threads and posting things like "Fred stans want to see Scottie fail, or Fred stans trashing Scottie to prop up Fred"

Nobody who wants the team to win games is wishing that Scottie fails. We are just measured with our expectations and aren't trying to force the process in any way. As opposed to some individuals who were getting butt hurt when he wasn't taking enough shots in their estimation.

The idea that people who want this team to win games are hoping that Scottie fails doesn't even make sense. Winning games depends on Scottie playing well.

Seems like Freddy is looking more like Freddy Franchise as opposed to Freddy Role player.

The weirdest narrative on a site full of weird narratives is posters making ripping certain players a part of their personality. It snowballs into, "I have to make it my mission to make sure everyone knows this player is bad/over-rated and when they play bad that is good for my RealGM brand."

Straight weirdo stuff.

Not really.

Seriously? Siakam is playing like a borderline top 10 player lately, averaging 22/9/5 on 49/35/71 shooting splits with a 2:1 AST/TO ratio the last 2 months while being a great defender. He has went back to his strengths that largely got him that 2nd team All-NBA spot in 2019/20 with added playmaking to off-set his FT shooting woes a bit.

You're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think Scottie developing into a top ~20 player for multiple years isn't good enough. I know the point of tWo is to strike gold and find a generational talent that wins us multiple championships, but Siakam with Scottie's confidence and desire to be great is probably enough to push him into that top 10 range. How would that not be enough?

Exactly. tWo is setting Scottie up for failure. Pascal was an All-NBA player who is averaging 21/8/5 on like 49% from the field.

Not good enough if he is our best player.

As number 2 or 3 those are fine numbers.

The point isn't that these aren't realistic expectations, they probably are. The point is going to be, how you can acquire the number 1.

And if you can't, you aren't going to win another championship.

Well we don’t know that because if Scottie becomes as good as peak Pascal then you have two all-NBA players, one of the better point guards in the league and an uber efficient 15-18ppg scorer and stud defender in OG as your 4th best player. And who knows how good GTJ will be by then as well as whoever else we add to the roster.

Siakam is 68th in EPM and 59th in Raptor (minimum 1.000 minutes played). He finished 130th, 104th and 46th in Raptor in 2021, 2020 and 2019.

He is better than those numbers and he is a good player to have but this can't be anywhere close to being your best player if your goals are championships.

It's not good enough to win championships as your building block. It's absolutely good enough to feel good about the draft pick and call it a success, it depends how you look at it. If you look at it completely independently of team success, it would be far better than the average #4 pick career so obviously you should be happy.

If he becomes a top 10 player that's a totally different conversation. Who are the top 10 players of the last few years? Lebron, KD, Giannis, Kawhi, Curry, Jokic, AD, Harden, Embiid, Luka/Westbrook/George? Those are franchise cornerstones.

You are assuming Barnes gets to that level quickly. This is unknown. Siakam is now 27. Fred is playing his best ball at 27 as well. If Barnes takes that much time until he is 26 or 27 those guys are way too old.
